Bought a portable 6200W/8750W B&S gasoline gen right after a huge ice storm just missed us, back in 2008 I think (people that got hit were without power for weeks). Also got a 10-circuit manual transfer panel, and a 40ft cable. Can't run the AC or the stove, but runs everything else we would need (heat, lights, 2 fridges, microwave, toaster oven, TV, etc). Got put to the test the very next winter when we lost power for 3 days. Was a hero! Cost me about $2k all in (installed the transfer panel myself).

The only benefit to my installing the transfer switch myself would be my wife would be eligible for widow's benefits sooner.

Greg, you didn't tell me you were a high falutin' tobacconist! You've been holding out on me.

National cutting championship this weekend. Lovely weather today. We're training.
Does the peach beverage contain alcohol or is it flavored water?

And some day I would love to try a course like that....but with a beer at the end of every station! Lol

(Where is the competition?)

I’m milling beams with an Alaskan mill right now to build a cover for a new Wolfe Ridge splitter that should be here this month. I’ve had it on order for about six months. I’m excited to get my hands on it. I’m looking forward to the log lift. I’ve been looking for those ibc cages but they are pricey around here. So I ordered some of those face cord bags to give them a try. It looks like you have a nice set up over there.
Awesome, I have heard good things about the Wolfe Ridge splitters. Have you used a splitter like these before? The log lift is certainly a life saver and you will love it. Did you get a four way or some kind of multi split wedge with it? If so, is it fixed or hydralic?
Nice cut on that beam boss. What saw and chain are you running on that mill?
