Wow. That's a pretty significant cut. Hope it heals quickly.

Out of curiosity, how'd it happen?
Abridged version I tossed the knife from my left to Right hand.
Happened quick. Took a beat for me to realize I was injured.
Strangely there is no blood on the blade. So either it was so fast, or, and more realistically, the knife drank my blood before I noticed.

Good thing Nate knows what he’s doing with these edges! Glad you made it out fairly ok.

So. The old adage fuck around and find out got me today.
Playing with my UF2. 😅🫣
Cut my hand. Bad. In urgent care waiting room.
Will update when able.
Damn! I hope you heal quick. I’m really sorry that happened to your preciously fast hands. Any nerve damage? I really hope not.
So… stitches out in about ten days. Another week for further healing and then I expect to see you in the “Practice sales” thread daily working out and limbering up.

On a totally unrelated note, if there are any speed demons (uninjured) who already got their fill of DEK3’s on the preorder, PM me.

Three of our kitchen knives that I made are now rescues!🤬🤬🤬

A few days ago we drove 1000 miles to our place in MO that we haven't decided what to do with yet. We are renting it to a young couple. Overall, they are keeping the place spotless, cleaner than we ever did. They have at least 3 Roomba etc., have made the yard look nice. I just loaded the rental van with some boxes that my wife packed and yesterday at 6:50 am was getting ready to drive back. I happened to open a kitchen drawer and see what happens to good knives that suffer numerous dishwasher cycles. One that served us for 18 years and still had nice finish on the handle looks like it got sandblasted. A chef knife for my daughter with stabilized redwood burl and mosaic pins is destroyed! I grabbed a blanket and quickly wrapped them up and got them out of there. I think I can fix them, but it's best I don't talk to them for a while. I had never seen what damage a dishwasher can do before, it's crazy.

You're renting the place out fully furnished?

First time I've ever heard of a landlord leaving kitchen knives for the tenants.

Learned that regular folks absolutely don't know (or care about) taking care of good knives a long time ago.

Had a roommate in college chop up some garlic with my chef's knife, then use the blade to scoop it up off the cutting board, then BANG the knife, edge first, on the rim of the steel pot, to knock the garlic off into the pot 🤯

"What the heck are you doing!"
"Whaddya mean?"
"Look at my knife! You just put a giant ding in the edge!"
"Oh... well how else am I supposed to get the garlic in the pot?"
"Use your finger to wipe it off the blade, into the pot!"

*** Should've known, from the fact that HER kitchen knives looked like saws.

P.S.
I think it was a chef's knife forum, where a newly hired chef/cook was asking for recommendations for their first high end chef's knife. After they made their choice, their next question was, "How do you guys keep your knives sharp?".

I cracked up at the first (tongue in cheek) reply, "Never let anyone else use them". 😅

I am sorry to hear you got wounded. The good news is that you weren’t playing that game with a K18. You might have amputated a limb like the Black Knight.

Heal up well. No more juggling with knives for you…😉

Not furnished. Most of our stuff is packed up. The guy is my grad student so other than this it's a nice way to make sure the place is OK. I suppose I could give him an F in something...

Regardless of engine/ trim ..... that's ridiculous
Is that a 392? I can think of things I’d rather spend that on but if you’re at the point where you have f-you money it’s probably the fastest convertible you can jump curbs in. I got my wife a 4xe for Christmas and it’s pretty fun to tool around town in.
