Random Thought Thread

Liked for the thick cut bacon, not your sons arm or the death or those steaks.

Hope your son has a speedy recovedy and may god rest those steaks souls..

My son once broke his arm when we were in Trinidad, CO in the 1970's. They had no immediate doctor available in town, but called in the only doctor they knew.
He set my son's arm. Once we got back to Michigan and had a surgeon look at it, he had to have his arm re-broken and set properly.
Turns out (much later) that the Colorado doc was a sex-change doctor. Be careful.

Ah Brian, so sorry man. Looks like it's not broken near the joints, so hopefully it's straight forward to set it. Prayers sent up brother.

if I had a dollar for every time I crashed my bike...

If I had a dollar for every time I wanted to run over someone on a bike!

I'd have at least 17 dollars.

Broken bones are the good time stories of a boy's childhood!

Best of wishes for your son.
I had a bad break in my arm and it wobbled around like that, except mine wobbled in between my wrist and elbow... I snapped both bones of my forearm. Two plates and 14 pins later and I have full use of the limb...
The only reason hardware was required is that I was right around 21 when it broke, and the majority of my growth had been completed, so the bones wouldn't fuse.

Your son should be fine, again, l wish him the best.
(I hope he is a righty.)

Random thought... It would be very useful on occasion to have a pair of opposable fingers sticking out of the forehead. Not having these was obviously an oversight by evolution o_O

I could only see them helping with shading my eyes from sunlight. Otherwise they would get in the way of vision.

Now the cheeks or chin offer some benefits.

I used to refuse painkillers ('cause I fancied myself tough). Until I had a bone reset without anesthetic. Now I have no problem taking painkillers as necessary. That experience cured me of my need to be needlessly macho (mostly).

I don't know about fingers on the forehead, but I have often thought one arm slightly longer with a second elbow would be useful.

I'm more of a third arm sticking out of my chest kind of guy (no more "Hey, put your finger on this knot for a second") ;)

.. Yes, he is right handed. Thanks for the kind thoughts.

He is taking it pretty good. It's not set yet. Ortho doc will on Monday. So it's pretty uncomfortable right now. He is at home, and resting a lot. Thankfully it does not look to need surgery.

Glad to hear it's not too severe. Hopefully he'll have a speedy recovery.

Broken bones build character.. as long as you take it like a man. Judging by the pictures, he's already sucked it up and is ready to get back out there.
