Can someone explain the difference in linen vs canvas scale materials? Can you see a difference, feel a difference? Also what is better when wet? What is better for long term durability? Also is Terotuff the latest and greatest?

Thanks

Micarta comes in three main types, paper, linen, and canvas. The paper can take the highest polish, but is perhaps less durable. Linen and canvas are both durable. Nathan won't sell you anything that isn't. You can look through pictures in this forum. The grippiness depends a little on whether or not you request a buffed finish.
Terotuf is different altogether. I have worked with it. It's very light, seems less durable and is slightly porous, likely to pick up stain and debris. I like it as a core for sheaths or handles, put not as a grip. Others love it...

Micarta works really well, but TT is a little better. It's lighter, absorbs shock better, plays well with sweaty hands. The disadvantage is lower stability, ugly as hell, gets funky looking.

None of my knives are intended to be used with gloves. You can, but it shouldn't be necessary unless it's cold or you're in brush that might stick your hands.

Burlap is coarser than canvas, which is coarser than linen, and you can certainly see this difference in the scales.
