Both turn the volume to 70% or greater and their tuning has a half-second delay so it sounds like a disjointed, angry chorus for most of the day. They're both kind, experienced, intelligent, reasonable, well-travelled, generous people despite the constant cacophony of conflicting instigation. But eventually it burrows its way into them and it sometimes takes a while to calm them down. I shudder to consider the level of psychosis being drummed into people who tune in 24/7.

Even worse, I know a guy who constantly walks around listening to ranting podcasters on his phone. Ugh. Did I ever mention how much I despise ranting podcasters in general (SPECIFICALLY the ranting types)?

Most of them seem to be clueless morons who have no clue what they're talking about, and no background to even understand what they're ranting about, but they go ahead anyway, to manipulate people's emotions, and get them riled up.

It also absolutely boggles my mind just HOW many people are stupid enough to get their news/views spoonfed to them by garbage humans of their choice, and too damned lazy to do ANY fact checking of the claims made by these manipulative shock-jock scum.

It's pretty elementary to me; if the person is ranting (and especially, if they're ALWAYS ranting) it's not simply because they're passionate/heated about the topic. It generally means they're trying to evoke an emotional reaction, because a dispassionate/calm delivery wouldn't work.

I label them scum, because some of them might simply be too stupid to understand that the point they're blathering about is incorrect, but the truly evil ones are well aware that what they're ranting about is pure unmitigated BS, but they go ahead anyway, because they're aware that the sheeple who listen to them are too lazy to do ANY fact checking whatsoever, and their paycheck/notoriety is related to manipulating the sheeple's emotions. 😡

It doesn't matter which side, or views someone holds; there will be numerous ranting morons for the lazy sheeple to choose from, so they can bleat right along with them. "The shepherd with his crock (of sh##), is telling us to go baaaaaa...". "BAAAAAA".

B bluemax_1 hey now, not all Podcaster are charlatans. Dan Carlin's Hardcore History is probably the best programming I've ever listened to. He's like a nerdier Ken Burns who will do 12 hour documentaries without pictures or video. Well worth a listen. He's got some free episodes on Spotify but the rest are $1 each on his website.*

*Not a paid spokesperson for Dan Carlin's Hardcore History. But I'm willing to be...
