Random Thought Thread

I use a machete to make trails in our small woods for Tina to take Skyler on little jaunts during the day. I mostly break stuff off with the 12" Ontario machete, but it's pretty effective on stuff that is in the process of dying or dessicating. I don't use it much on green wood or willowy growth, I have better blades for that.

I have the shorter Fiddleback Forge machete. The steel is 1075 (could it be even the cheaper 1055?!) Anyhoo, not the best tool for the race I had paid back when as compared to the much more reasonable Ontario line but the only reason that I like that machete is the handle scales are so CPK (before there was CPK). As rumor has it, ah, eh, deeh, the same as someone else had mentioned about the FbF's Camp Knife a couple while back ;)

Have a great weekend all!
