I can't "like" this post. I swear somebody must have set loose a new batch of gremlins!Y'all ain't going to believe this
But my Ford truck is broke down in the middle of somewhere called Mount Vernon Kentucky
*sigh*
A bearing in the alternator seized which broke the serpentine belt
Every auto parts store is closed for the holiday or does not have anything or is very far away
Oof, and no AC now regardless, arg!!Y'all ain't going to believe this

If you can't find the part I can go into work tomorrow and see if they have one in stock
I can bring some tools and electric impacts if needed
You are a gentleman and a scholar. I appreciate that. I think that's quite a haul for you though.
We got it into a hotel parking lot and we're just going to wait till morning and see what the local auto parts store has. Thanks though.

Can you jump start it and keep it running sans belt? or does it power other things, besides AC, too?
I don't know Fords
Sincerely hope it's not too inconvenient, and you're on the "to" leg and not the "from", with tons of mill in tow.
Without the belt there's no power steering or power brakes and this truck is quite a handful without those things. Also the truck uses electricity to fire the injector so I wouldn't get very far before the batteries were dead.
Just the half mile I drove it after it broke was enough to get the coolant boiling over because the belt also powers the water pump
And also puking out power steering fluid, because Ford.

Maybe a vin number?
I still have some shops open around me (until 9pm).

I'm 8 1/2 hours away. I couldn't scrounge the parts till tomorrow either. You all should just settle in, and enjoy small town Kentucky best you can. Hell, a little KY never hurt anyone. You should have no problem tracking down a new alternator, belt and coolant for a 7.3 first thing and be back on the road by mid-morning.Without the belt there's no power steering or power brakes and this truck is quite a handful without those things. That's some kind of X-mas miracle.I found a shop the next town over that had the parts I need and they're going to send a guy
