That pic with the truck all fixed up and GTG: the evening's shadow looks like a blue hue casted all over Nathan's white truck. Holy moly, Blues does really do the hovering above thingie :p
Don't you forget it. I've been assigned protection duty for the upper echelon of CPK management. I didn't just show up here one day.

Kind of like Clarence in "It's a Wonderful Life". (I did say earlier it's like a X-mas miracle...didn't I?)

Good to go
I'm impressed: a pair of Optima spiral cell batteries - those can take a beating and keep on cranking. I ran them for years in my normally aspirated 91 F350 7.3. Never had any problems with them, even if they went dead (lots of vampire loads on mine) they'd come back with a couple hours charge. For no real reason I've switched to Odyssey AGMs, pretty much the same deal.

Glad you're back in the saddle.

Update:

Just spoke to Jo, and she and Nathan are on the road, currently in Indiana, and should be at their destination this afternoon.

The plan is to do the pickup and then hopefully get a couple of hours back on the road heading toward home...finishing up the journey tomorrow.

That's all I got...but so far, so good.

Back to hovering...

Thanks for the update Blues. I had it all backwards thinking that the Bosses were already loaded up and on their way back when the alternator threw a bearing, busting a pulley and eff'ing up the serpentine belt somewhere in KY!

Agreed on the statement regarding those Optima batteries by the other poster. I hadn't realized that Nathan had two of 'em Optimas in the truck which hopefully will spring back to life with the replaced alternator. What can I say? I'm just cheap and I run to Costco for Interstate batteries whenever I need car and marine type batteries fast ;)

I had the bearings lock up on my alternator on a Chevy suburban, and it took out the serpentine belt too. Smoke was going everywhere, I thought it was on fire at first.
I had to change everything in a grocery store parking lot. Luckily, I had my tools with me, and there was an automotive store within walking distance.🥵 I think it was about 110° that day in Phoenix.
I hope everything went ok👍

"Is that Nate and Jo down there?"

"I said I was on it..."

"You'd better be. I don't want the next scheduled Friday sale messed with."

"Sigh...Haven't you got more important things to do?"

"Don't push your luck."

🤣 🍻

Driving a heavy duty truck and trailer through Chicago is exciting. Finally made it to our destination.
Chicago traffic is nuts. Used to drive to Chicago every so often when I was in college. I always found it amusing, that right around where the speed limit dropped down to 55 mph as we entered Chicago (Dan Ryan Expressway?), everyone sped up to ~80mph 😂

First few times, I recall seeing a patrol car, and thinking, "Whoops. Better slow down", then I realized I was the one creating a hazard, as everyone else had to zip around me, and the cops simply ignored everyone going 20+mph over the posted limits. From then, I just figured, "better just go with the flow".

*** I think FL is one of the few states where LE can actually write tickets for "impeding the flow of traffic", when someone is driving the speed limit, but everyone else is going over the speed limit.
