Me playing one on one against atleast at the time the NCAAs all time leading scorer (or maybe it was big ten? 🤔) and I think 1992 #6 overall NBA pick Calbert Cheney. Basically went to that basketball camp just
To see him speak (Fam bled IU bball) and ended up being the only kid who played against him! Was so fortunate someone there got pics and sent them in the mail back in the day 🙏

Sorry to say that I never tried this one before today...and they're only four miles away. Shame on me. (Goes great with a nice, rare, roast beef sandwich.)

Ten Fidy is good if you're into stouts. Mama's little yells pils ain't bad either.

Granted, back in 1989; quicksand, killer bees and ninjas seemed to be serious threats, too.
I legit fell into quicksand once in a subdivision in Southfield Mi.
It was due to a water main break that leaked enough to pool under the sand that made up the majority of the area. The ground between the road and the side walk looked pristine. I needed to locate the gas lines so that the township could repair the break. That required hooking up to the meter at the house. I exited the work truck, grabbed my gear, stepped on the curb with one foot, and stepped on the easement with the other, except it just fell into nothingness. Luckily I’m a bit tall at 6’3 so when I fell forward my elbows landed on the sidewalk. I was just hanging there, legs dangling in the ground like it was outer space- zero resistance. I pulled myself up onto the sidewalk expecting to be soaking wet but I was dry other than the tips of my boots. If I wouldn’t have caught the sidewalk I would’ve just disappeared into the ground. If the backhoe wouldn’t have found me during the repair I’d still be missing. Strange experience.

Finally getting a little break from the heat we've been enduring, it's actually nice enough to sit outside. Trying a new whiskey and diving into a new book.

I really enjoyed The Dark Forest. Much easier to read than Three Body Problem.
Death’s End goes off the rails…
Be sure to read The Redemption of Time. 👍

Yeah, I've had pretty much everything in the Oskar Blues lineup since they moved to the area some years back. (About four miles away.)

I like the Old Chub but I got burned out on it a couple months back so I've gone back to the light lager, Dale's Pale Ale, and now this stronger version of Dale's Pale Ale which came in a mix pack.

Awesome, thank you for the feedback. I am watching the show during my workouts currently and that led me to ordering the first book, which I read in an afternoon and finished the following morning. I liked it well enough to order the second book which is good so far.

Have you read his "Three Body Problem" series? It's not my usual genre but I enjoyed reading the three books.

I've only read the first book so far and it was enjoyable. Interestingly, I am watching the show at the same time as I am reading the books. I never do that but in this case, it is fun to capture the disparities in real-time, so to speak.
