Just read an article that quoted Trump as saying "I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear." It claims he shared this on his Truth Social account.

He was looking in the direction of the shooter when he was shot, which, given the angles tells me it probably was just a graze and not a hole in the head.

News is saying the shot came from behind him. Counter snipers wasted the shooter.

I prefer to wait for the facts to come out before speculating too far into this event. I've only worked Secret Service details on one presidential campaign many years ago, as an "OTA", (Other Treasury Agent), but I did protective assignments with my first agency.

Wife told me this morning that the shooter was registered as a "Republican"...but that could have simply been the case so he could vote in a primary, not necessarily because that was his actual affiliation, philosophically. Regardless, it's beyond unfortunate that we are going down this road.

you know, I do hate the discussionment of politics here in this little bubble we have, but I just want to say that political violence of this and other types is getting serious and it's really, really bad. It's discouraging and scary, and I sure hope that things de escalate instead of going the other direction.

I heard it was somebody from antifa. Yes it's good to wait to find out the facts. One thing I have a question that I've heard others ask, is, how can antifa still exist? It just seems weird that they still exist. Whether or not they were involved, it seems weird they are allowed to exist.

The same way that neo-nazis and other groups that don't stand for our values are allowed to exist. The Constitution / Bill of Rights provides those protections.

We have a veterans memorial near where I live, and antifa, gave a warning that they were going to destroy it. The locals in my neighborhood are all very Second Amendment friendly, and everybody grabbed their right arm and went down there to protect the memorial. They didn't get it destroyed, and at least one antifa ended up arrested. The rest of them were intimidated by the 300 locals that were armed.
