You must really be scared of your wife not to say "get married". LOL.

I think this applies here:

Yesterday, I drove up to & parked one of my daily drivers on the street in front of my house and opened the 2 car garage door as usual upon my arrival.

Saw a small squirrel enter the garage & scoot under one of the cars parked in there. I freaked out. 😲

The last thing that I need/want is a squirrel tearing up (or burrowing in) my garage.

Went around the garage w/a broom and tapped on everything at ground level with the handle to try to find the squirrel & encourage it to leave.

Didn't see/hear a thing but was still worried it was in there. 🤔

So, I opened both doors (2 & 1 car) and pulled out the cars & did the same thing.

Still no sign of the squirrel. 🤔

I even pulled out the cars parked in the garage & drove them a short distance in case it might have gotten into the undercarriage of one of them.

Still no sign of the squirrel. 🤔

So, the squirrel must have gotten out of the garage w/o my noticing it but I was still worried that it was in there & made several trips during the day/night to check to see if I could hear/see any evidence of that.

Still no sign of the squirrel then or this morning but I'm still worried it's in there. 🤷‍♂️

"What me worry?" LOL!

Now, retell that story, but from the squirrel's point of view.

I have had enough squirrel damage on enough important things here that they have gone from the list of cute fuzzy things that I enjoy to the list of things that I shoot on sight.

They chewed up my deck, they chewed up my trash cans. Fine. They about burned my shop down and they chewed up the wiring on a Ford Powerstroke (do you know how hard it is to keep one of those running) not fine.

Consider looking into the Goodnature A18 squirrel traps.

They're expensive, and you'll want to get the metal cap to stop them chewing through the plastic (or just fab your own), but they're an automatic trap that use CO2 cartridges and automatically reset, so just mount them in an elevated position where only squirrels would get to them (and fall out of the way, so the trap is unobstructed when it resets for the next one).
