I’ve been thinking about getting a 10mm next as well. Just don’t know what one.

I personally prefer a full size 10mm. I have the springfield xdm elite with a 5 inch barrel. I think it's been discontinued now. At the time there weren't many polymer framed 10mm pistols.

If I were buying now, I'd go with the sig p320 X-ten.

with 10mm arent you supposed to have a longer barrel so the powder burns up more completely?

I'm not sure about the powder being unburned in shorter barrels. Wouldn't that depend on the powder? I can say there's definitely more recoil and a drop in velocity.

10mm isn't something I'd ccw. I prefer shooting it out of full size handguns.

recoil and less velocity comes from the powder not being burned completely?

and yes you can ccw full size firearms... probably

I think.

I know people can, but I don't.

I really have my 10mm setup to deal with large aggressive animals when I'm out camping. I just use a gunfightersinc Kenai chest rig.

There's no reason to expect that you can't buy or develop decent loads for the 3.8" barrel.

As far as recoil, it's very comfortable for me, and my son was fine with it as a novice.

I'm enjoying this one. They had a special deal for everything you see here except the DEK3.

I don't have any familiarity with 10mm but I have always liked the Springfield XD series. Back when they were first introduced, I felt that they had taken everything that Glock had introduced and made it better, with more user options, a better grip angle, and more robust manufacturing. My wife's first pistol was a XD subcompact in 9mm. It was a terrific gun.

I do. A Sig P220 is my carry piece, every day I wear pants anyway (which is anytime I leave the house).

Seeing Richard338 Richard338 's XD has me reminiscing a bit. Being adopted and the fact that most of us were from troubled backgrounds, there were no guns in our household growing up. It wasn't a risk that my folks were willing to take.

Fast forward to a time that I was grown, out of the house, and making my own way, my dad approached me wanting my advice on picking up a couple of firearms. This was motivated in part by a certain presidential candidate at the time who facilitated some of the most robust gun sales the nation had ever seen up to that point.

I was working at the Sheriff's Office at that time and .40 S&W was the go-to caliber for most agencies in my area. Hell, everyone seemed to love it until the FBI decided to change to 9mm. I found it hilarious how rapidly everyone ditched .40. It just goes to show that caliber choices are much like fashion - they go in and out of style.

Anyway, I digress. I have no issues with .40, I was trained on it and I shoot it well. I helped my dad choose a pistol and a bolt gun, a full size Springfield XD in .40 and a S&W 30.06. It was a great moment for my dad and I, we didn't have the best relationship growing up. Sadly, he is no longer with us but I still have his guns. Not antiques by any means, but the sentiments still run deep.

One of the best lines from the debate was actually Trump saying "I don't think he's ever fired anybody."

Director of the Secret Service sure isn't getting fired, and she doesn't have the integrity to resign, either. Sounds like she got the job because the First Lady and the White House Chief of Staff like her and not because she was, you know, the best-qualified candidate...

Nobody got fired after the Afghanistan withdrawal, either, so I can't say as I'm surprised.
