Pardon me while I vent...

Brought Kobe for his annual yesterday...

They think he's a few years older than the rescue place estimated...(that's okay, I'm older than I like to think I am)...

The vet thinks he may have a thyroid issue...

Today, they called to tell me he has whipworms.

Okay, thanks for letting me get that out of my system.

Sorry to hear that E. We’re in almost the same predicament with Cleo. She has something growing on her paw and it’s busted open bleeding in everything. She goes in Wed for surgery to remove it.

Best of luck to Kobe!

A couple of weeks ago I took my girl to the emergency vet for a laceration to the bridge of her muzzle she got chasing a squirrel after hours (got cut on chainlink). The place was super busy with 2 veterinarians working. My dog isn’t friendly so we went outside to wait. It was heartbreaking watching frantic folks carrying in sick dogs, and seeing people leaving with collars/leashes crying. They were so busy that they started triaging in the parking lot. We left after letting the staff know, as we were not as urgent as most others, and went to our regular vet in the morning. I love dogs and hate seeing them suffering.

The GV503 has been down. I haven't been able to repair it. Been losing sleep on this one.

I hate bringing in Mori to make repairs because it gets real expensive real fast and they're really not much more handy at it than I am. (A couple years ago it cost over $10,000 just to clear an error code. It wasn't even anything actually wrong with the machine, it just needed some settings changed.)

But this was a board level issue with the GUI unit and there's just no fixing that for me. So they have come in and, low and behold, they actually fixed it in a reasonable time frame. Last time it was something like this it took them a week working on it but they got a guy in here who really knew what he was doing and he banged it out in a few hours. My bill's going to be around 10 grand but we're back in production. I feel so much better.

All this talk about dogs having trouble... my pup's left hind-quarter has almost gone limp on him. He doesn't appear to be in pain, as normally he whines, yelps, or squeals when he's hurt, but he won't put any weight on that leg. That makes me worry more than anything.

Our vet can't see him until tomorrow and I'm told the inevitable Xray process won't be cheap. So it goes.

I hope Kobe's feeling better soon E.

I hope it's nothing serious Jonny. And Cleo's back too 100% quickly.

Prayers and good thoughts for your pup Willy.

I picked up the meds specifically for the whipworm this afternoon...and changed the scheduled meds for flea and tick, as well as the one for parasitic worms, (going forward) to more comprehensive options. (Not priced for the faint of heart.)

We'll see about the thyroid business in about a month or so.

Thanks guys for the support. Sending out good thoughts for all the critters needing some smoke.

Our Sheltie had this happen when she was getting older, and three treatments with the healing laser over her lower spine fixed her right up!

I just spent $1200 at the vet. My dog, Gus, had interdigital furniculitis, which can be pimples or ingrown hairs between his toes. Usually not a big deal, but since yesterday his foot has swollen quite large and he won't walk on it.
Took him in for x-rays. It's not a fracture. Something with his lymph node. He's on antibiotics and anti-inflammatory steroids now. It's not a tick born or parasitic disease. Awaiting the rest of the test results test.

Sorry, guys :( Hope this is turning out OK for all of you and your puppies.

My previous dog had hyperthyroidism. Aside from getting fat initially and having to take one pill a day for the rest of his life it was a non-issue. Hopefully it's something easy enough like that, E.

Yeah, flea, tick and other nasty asshole preventatives ain't cheap. Worth it though.

Hoping that kobe heals quickly. It's frustrating when you try so hard to take care of your animals and they are afflicted with ailments anyway.
It's worth all the effort to care for your dog though. I think they can sense it and appreciate it

Dude 100

Bella was not supposed to make it a year with her condition.....

The day we had to put her down, her vet said Bella lived way longer than any other dog she has ever known of with her condition, and she knows she was loved and well taken care of

I hope all of you have good news or see improvements very soon!

Funiculitis, an inflammation of the spermatic cord, usually results from infection of adjacent structures like the epididymis, testis or the urethra. It is most frequently caused by a bacterial infection, but has a broad (non-infectious) differential diagnosis.

Furunculitis (Furunculosis) is a deep infection of the hair follicle leading to abscess formation with accumulation of pus and necrotic tissue. Furuncles appear on the hair-bearing parts of the skin and the infectious agent is Staphylococcus aureus. However, other bacteria may also be causative.

I'm assuming it is #2 above. Good news it's very treatable 🐶
