Who’s got a 10mm here? I need a bear gun. Been eye effing the Glock 20 or 29. Told myself I’d never own a Glock, but I shot a 29 in 10mm and it was nice.
I don't own a 10mm yet, but have been shooting a few recently and considering adding one. I still want to shoot a couple more before I decide what though. But it is a pretty impressive round.

The footnotes if you don't care to read all my babbling ... If I were going to buy a 10mm tomorrow I'd be good with either Glock 20 or 40 (I highly recommend a Gen 5 if you go Glock) ... or a Sig P220 of the 10mm handguns I've shot so far.

I've shot a Glock 20 quite a bit and it's what you'd expect dead reliable and a solid pistol plenty accurate too. The 40 a bit more accurate. Just depends if/how/where you want to carry it which model you might want to look at. I again recommend the Gen 5 Glocks. I can't tell you how many Glocks I tried and traded or sold that just didn't suit me until I bought a Gen5 G19 ... I might have a few Gen5s now.

I've put several hundred rounds through a Sig P220 Legion 10mm. I carried a Sig P220 in 45 ACP for many years and still do from time to time. They just feel good and work well for me. Another extremely reliable workhorse of a pistol. Probably feels the best for me of the 10mm pistols I've shot so far and I'm most familar with it. I handled a P320 XTen in 10mm and it felt good, but it's not a P220. It could be partly because I have so much trigger time with a P220 in my life, but the P220 Legion grouped the best for me so far with the Glock close behind.

I put a couple mags through a S&W M&P. It felt ok, but wasn't the best fit in my hand and I didn't shoot it as well probably mostly because I haven't had as much trigger time with it. Seemed like a solid gun and it had a bit less felt recoil than the Glocks to me (not a huge difference, but noticable).

I shot a new FN 510 that had an issue. It could have just been a bad apple. Most the FN stuff I've handled is real reliable. Verdict still out on it.

I shot a Kimber 1911 (I don't recall the model), but it was sadly like many newer Kimbers pistols and shat the bed several times. Failure to feed, failure to eject, the magazines failed to hold the slide open on empty. I couldn't recommend it.

I'm waiting to get some time with a Dan Wesson Kodiak. I still like 1911s and I want to try a good one in 10mm before I count them out.

And I haven't ruled out a 10mm revolver just yet. I love me some wheel guns. My S&W 627 Pro in .357 below is my chest rig gun on the occasion I still get in big bear country and what the 10mm might share duty with or replace. Gratuitous forum appropriate gun on knife porn ...
