Mother-in-law was a certified space exploration nut. The 'rocket' is actually a bomb casing with some artistic embellishments. The pumpkin was just left outside in Wisconsin and dried/petrified on its own. It is still in roughly the same shape about 15 years later. Plus the goat. 'Rocket' was repainted 'Mars or Bust' a few years ago; this is the original paintjob iirc.

Thank you for indulging me!

Who’s got a 10mm here? I need a bear gun. Been eye effing the Glock 20 or 29. Told myself I’d never own a Glock, but I shot a 29 in 10mm and it was nice.

I have an xdm elite that's pretty nice, but if I were buying a 10mm now, I'd go with the sig Xten. EMCEE EMCEE bought wisely.

I'm not a fan of the 10mm glocks because the barrel's polygonal rifling tends to be more prone to lead fouling. For 10mm this really matters to me because I shoot a considerable amount of lead, hardcast, bear loads, etc. You can get around this by cleaning your gun more frequently. Personally, I would rather avoid the polygonal rifling.

I also don't like that glocks with sub-par triggers and cheap plastic sights cost as much as other pistols with better triggers, night sights, fiber optics, etc.

I wouldn't go with the 10mm m&p pistols right now because they've had a lot of issues with mags dropping free unexpectedly. Wait until they fix that if you want an m&p.

Just my opinions and preferences.

I worked for a guy for several years that was an artist focused mainly on sculptures. When his grand kids were born he started building a super elaborate rocket at his compound in the woods. It was two stories tall and several people could go inside and there were captains chairs and a million lights, switches, monitors and levers to play with. It was the old style rocket with tons of rivets on the outside. It was really elaborate. I wish I had a better picture. He was a very interesting guy and often provided sculptures for movie sets especially gargoyles and the like. IMG_8020.jpeg

We had a hawk land on the transformer by our house. Our neighbor saw it fall so called me to ask if my boys wanted to check it out. Yep, pretty dead.
I always feel a twinge of sadness when beautiful birds of prey like that get electrocuted. Small birds, scavengers, rodents, snakes…..meh. Tweakers attempting to steal wire : NO COMMENT.

Watching "Alone". I'm on season 9.

Some random thoughts that came to mind because of the show:

It's crazy to me how disconnected some people have become from nature and where their meals come from; where meat comes from. Nature is brutal, the food chain is tough. Death is the price of life.

Also, I'm blown away by people's self-deception and delusional ideas.

And....I would die in the harsh wild. 99% of us would if we couldn't migrate to better lands.

Whelp.... I'm gonna go microwave some food, drink my clean tap water, sit in my temperature controlled house, and watch TV. Life is pretty good on this thunderstorming day.
