For all the Toyota owners out there, just wanted to give you a heads up:

Toyota is currently running a 25% off promo on parts and accessories for 10 more days (and I believe it’s a Toyota Corp promo, because it’s listed on numerous Toyota parts/dealer websites).

I just received my order of 50qts of Toyota 0w16 oil and 10 filters. The TOTAL price (with free shipping) worked out to $5/qt and $2/filter 😮). The local dealership sells the oil for $8.xx/qt, and when I told them I usually got it online for ~$7/qt shipped, they wouldn’t match the price, so this is a pretty phenomenal deal. With the Fumoto easy-drain valve, that makes my 5qt oil change $27 vs the ~$120 the dealership charges.

The banner on the sites says 25% off Sitewide, so if you need an alternator or other parts, this would be a great time to order them. Shop around, because some sites seem to have better prices than others (before adding that discount).

I don't even like Glock but that G40 long slide just works. Accurate, handles full power loads, the 6" barrel gives you the full velocity. 15 rounds of 10 mm is a lot of fire power. It has become my favorite firearm
Glock 40 gets my vote as well. I just put an RMR on mine and it’s a sweet “little” package. Haven’t shot it a lot but so far I’m very impressed.

Before I decided that having bird feeders was simply an invitation to bears to come up on the deck and take over, I had a mama and yearling up there one evening that were a riot. She walked on the deck rail like the balance beam and would've put many an Olympian to shame. So precise and delicate in her movements, and she was a full figured gal. The young one was more like kids everywhere..."I want that" and ham handed in comparison.

A few years ago I fed a bull moose some carrots and apples in the middle of winter. He was quite large and really liked what I offered. After I depleted the fridge of treats, I went back inside and he stayed outside the front porch waiting for more. Later on he decided to check out the back and came over the 6’ privacy fence looking for more.

My wife is convinced I will die by bear mauling or moose trampling🤣. I was trying to get photos of a massive bull in velvet and he suddenly decided he would prefer I not be there, so he charged and was frustrated that I stayed on the opposite side of a birch tree while he circled and thrashed about. Finally he got bored and left.

I got shoved by a bull that had lowered its head as I was pulling ice formations off his face. His ears were forward and hackles never raised, but launched me effortlessly. Obviously no intention of hurting me.

I had a caribou up in AK that lowered his head to let me know that I had come as close as he was in the mood to tolerate. I was happy to follow his lead.

Had a small wolf come into my campsite in Polychrome Pass in Denali. That was a real pleasure. It lowered its head submissively as if asking permission to dig out the ground squirrels she was pouncing on. I followed her in that activity for about 20 minutes until she left.

I've had so many great interactions with animals, and few have been negative...whether on land or underwater.

Can we get a better picture of the Rocketship flag pole?

Mother-in-law was a certified space exploration nut. The 'rocket' is actually a bomb casing with some artistic embellishments. The pumpkin was just left outside in Wisconsin and dried/petrified on its own. It is still in roughly the same shape about 15 years later. Plus the goat. 'Rocket' was repainted 'Mars or Bust' a few years ago; this is the original paintjob iirc.
