Probably not headed back out muzzleloader hunting again this weekend due to shitty weather forecast (wind, cold, rain). :( There's a reason they say, "Keep your powder dry", and it's hard to do that when it's raining for several days (even with a gun condom, high humidity can cause ignition issues).

That sucks mate, I use a cows knee on my flintlock and it does a good job of keeping things dry. If it’s proper wet I go back to 2F in the pan.

A coworker sent a pic from their house. I figured I’d go out, take a look, and send a pic of a tree in the westerly direction…
Turns out the iphone was able to see it… then when I knew where to look, I could too!
I took this one last night.

This is a 10-second exposure on an iPhone 15 Pro. Pretty damn amazing! I'm going to try again tonight with something to hold the phone for better clarity vs. my dumb shaky hand lmao.

Thanks, E.

Yep, I'm German. Not a Mutt either, 4 Nazi Grandparents .... When I came here, I was against guns and death penalty. My American wife straightened me out pretty quickly though :)

Nathan the Machinist Nathan the Machinist - more than lack of spine, that guy sounds stupid, given the K20 is worth much more today than at the day of the pre-order.

He is - as my late dad would have said - "underexposed".

You raise a good point

I'm out the administrative cost of taking and then canceling the order and probably a hundred bucks in PayPal fees.

But, when his order is complete, I can put it on an auction site and maybe make up some of that loss.

What do you want to bet I might break even or even slightly better
Cheer up, I think you'll be fleecing us in the 20-yard bottle cap shoot. I stopped by the range today and it seems I'll need some luck on my side...

Roland, years ago, during the summer between semesters at university, I worked as a machinist apprentice in a factory in Brooklyn which made various items for the military and transportation industries.

There was an "old man" who worked there who was a veteran of the German army in WWII and had the bayonet scar in the back of his neck to prove it.
He took me aside one day to apologize to me and tell me he was not a Nazi, fought for his country, but had nothing against Jews. (He had overheard me discussing my mixed family origins with some Colombians I was friendly with at the factory.) I told Willie that he owed me no apology for what others of his countrymen had done. (I did lose family members in the camps, but they were once or twice removed.)

My father in law, whom I adored, fought for the Italian army in WWII. I never tired of breaking his balls and telling him that if his side had won, I'd not have been around to marry his daughter, or fix the antenna on the roof of his apartment building so he could get the Italian station on UHF.

There's enough evil in the world without us having to throw everyone under the bus for the sins of their fathers or countrymen. It's not always easy, but I try to walk that line.
