Random Thought Thread

PSA has been good when I've ordered from them. They are just over the border in SC. Also MassAmmo, Target Sports, and a few others that don't come readily to mind. That's why ammoseek has been so good in the past for locating the best prices. Sometimes the least likely source has the best deal, and I usually forget them after not ordering from them for a while. (But I do save my user name and passwords for the site when needed again.)

Pro tip for those of you who may not have ordered ammo online in the past...don't buy simply based upon the price per box (or per round) of the ammo. Factor in the shipping costs and any taxes levied before ponying up. Sometimes the outfit offering the best price per round won't have the best price delivered to your door.

Most of the folks here will hopefully forgive my preaching to the choir.
Yup.

Price shopping is always the way to go, for online shopping.

I use both Ammoseek, and websearch results, because I’m generally looking for something specific, and different sites may have what I’m looking for on sale at that particular time (also have to be careful about vetting/websearching the sites themselves. I’ve found some “too good to be true” deals that were scam websites).

I'm smoking a couple chuck roasts and it's about 20 degrees outside. My smoker has double wall insulation, but it still burns twice as many pellets!

I got a carbon felt welding blanket to wrap it in and that helps, but dang.....pellets aren't cheap. I'm going to have to build an enclosed shack to smoke food during the winter if I keep this up!

Tri tip on the smoker, turkey breast will go on in 3hrs mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Smoked tri tip is sooooo good! Your gonna love it.

Target sports! That was one of the others I couldn't remember.

Some I like to use ... SG Ammo ... LuckyGunner ... Natchez ... Target Sports USA ... Velocity Ammo ... Bucking Horse Outpost ... Underwood Ammo.

If you watch these all have good deals fairly regularly.

Ammo Seek will give you deals at some smaller shops that are good buys, but you have to do a little checking before jumping in as some don't have great track records.

Yeah I had some ammo in the shopping cart and the shipping was going to be $80 for five 20 round boxes.

Nope

-4 F at the house, -15 F towards the cabin, -32 F where my friend is this morning. Crazy weather shifts this week.

…if only I had your temps…

Old man and I did a heifer yesterday evening. I didn’t forget the skinner this time, but the EDC did get use cutting out the cheeks.

Got back to his place, put the quarters in the cool room and then cracked a bottle of rum. We found the bottom in about half an hour, step mum dropped me home and my wife kindly offered the spare room to me.

Last day of holidays before the weekend and back to work next week.

Will take my eldest two fishing with my brothers this evening. All in all a good couple of days.

Three thoughts after looking at those photos:

1) Those cows look angry enough to gang up and take you down.

2) I had no idea your were a Plumber…😉

3) The “EDC 1.2” or “EDC 2024” or any other configuration of the EDC “ROCKS” as a great (BEST?) all-around knife!

That is all! That is enough!!
