Random Thought Thread

Weak hand...so there's that. Took a spill while out back with the dog. Loose or wet leaves. Put her hand down to break her fall...the rest is as expected.

Won't know anything until we can get to see the surgeon and find whether cutting Is necessary. I'll be very surprised if it's not based upon what I saw of the injury and the x-rays.
Time to separate the wife and the dog…

*** trying to put a lighthearted spin on the situation.

In other positive news, my wife broke her wrist with fractures of radius and ulna today. I planned to go grocery shopping and got to spend the afternoon in the E.R. instead. Can't wait to see the orthopedic surgeon to find out if she'll need surgery to install a plate.

FML
Ouch ...sorry to hear that E. I hope it she isn't in a lot of pain and that it doesn't require surgery. Hoping for a quick and complete recovery.

Sorry, Elliott. Any update?
I won't have any updates until we get an appointment to see the orthopedist. I spoke with someone at a practice recommended by a nurse practitioner while still at the ER this afternoon. I'm supposed to hear back from someone, hopefully tomorrow.

Appreciate all the good thoughts. I'm gonna be pretty busy for a while.

Nature is really amazing.

I’ve kept a log book on migratory birds I’ve seen in my yard since 2013.

These Cooper Hawks have arrived every single year, regardless the weather, between Feb 19-21.

They actually sit at the same spot each year too.

I just stepped outside and it was dead silence with the regular local birds, so I knew a hawk must be close by.

Sure enough, this Cooper was just sitting on the back fence, waiting for it’s next meal.

Bad pic with a cell phone, but can clearly see him/her.

Interesting...we usually know a hawk is around due to the racket all the other birds make.

Can you hold off on the Friday drinks until after the sale?! Maybe that would increase your chances.

That is a grand idea sir! (That is a TERRIBLE idea..... j/k)

Depends upon the species of Hawk.

If a Red Tail, the birds don’t care and the squirrels cry.

If a Cooper, the birds are silent, and the squirrels don’t care.

Red Tails eat Squirrels
Coppers eat birds

They know the difference somehow.
