Well, the rain changed into wet ice snow right on time.

It won’t last long, but with no salt on the streets yet, it’s going to be a slippery drive to work for my daughter’s morning shift. 🙏🏻

Well it’s still snowing a bit. No salt trucks at all. Mostly just wet on the roads, enough ground heat by now to melt it I guess… but still see puddles where it’s obviously frozen.

Sidewalks and the deck, slippery as heck, and covered in 1/4 inch of ice snow mix.

Be careful out there everyone, we all are having unusual weather for this time of year.

Well, that was fun. Another month, another storm, another power and internet outage. Trees down and unfortunately, some local loss of life.

Just got things back on after 17 hours or so.

Maybe I'll move back to the beach. (Having lived through Hurricane Andrew while residing on a barrier island, maybe not.)

I remember considering Prescott early on when we were considering where to buy a home. I do love the southwest.
It’s still number 1 on my list and hopefully it hasn’t changed too much.
I’m supposed to go visit next month, but I’ve heard there has been a lot of growth. Apparently Chino Valley and Prescott Valley blowing up in size and are almost unrecognizable now.

I've heard that the infrastructure hasn't been able to keep up with the growth. At this point in my life, and wants, I'd want to be in a smaller, less populated area.

I lived in Flagstaff for a year during college. Arizona “feel” without the heat. It was pretty cool. There was a place called Ruff’s Guns and Liquor that had a drive through. I was close enough to Sedona and the Grand Canyon. And it was four hours to Vegas. And those single malts hit a little harder and faster with the altitude. It does get pretty cold though.

I've spent a decent amount of time in Tucson and Marana and remember how cold the desert can get at night. Flagstaff would probably be a bit chillier and snowier than I'd be looking for because of the altitude...but I always liked Flagstaff because I was fascinated by the contributions to astronomy that came out of the observatory there.

a friend of mine from bike school lives in Tucson, and I stayed at his place for a week or so. He's a frame builder, and offered to put me up and build a frame for myself in his shop- it's still a great memory. The terrain and environment was really surreal to me, coming from the rainforest. Fascinating kind of place.
I remember watching the election show while I was there, Bush v. Gore- going back a little while now
