Damn Nate if you keep being all logical and willing to work with others you might get canceled.

But they might think twice if you have a K20 in one hand and the Integral Dagger in the other though ...

If I vote for you ... do I have to drink pumpkin beer?
I'll teach you how to fake it, like being undercover.

I would be unelectable

I'm actually not a strong proponent of democracy. Unchecked democracy is what got us here.

I think it would be better if we were some kind of a constitutional republic instead.

You would have democratically elected representatives. You know, people who can represent you. But they're not really the lawmaker decision makers, you have another layer of professional policy makers above them that had to vet and fine-tune any possible law before sending it along to some sort of an executive who could either choose to sign it into law or veto it.

That way you would have educated and informed people making choices and not just the power of the masses because that's just a mob mentality rule.

And then this whole thing could be overseen by a separate branch. Apolitical. That are constitutional scholars that can make sure that nothing is getting through they shouldn't be. Powerless in the sense they don't create law but powerful in the sense they prevent the implementation of bad law.

That sounds like it would be a really good system of government. As long as it wasn't subverted. There would be an awful lot of "on your honor" type situations where leaders would be required to perform their sworn duties. Because those with physical power are not always those with authority. I could see something like that working for a few hundred years maybe but it would eventually fail if you got the wrong knuckleheads in there who didn't respect it.

Something about all that seems... familiar. Like a distant, foggy memory. Weird.
