I think you ought to be able to call out any high-end maker and get video taped hardness readings, demonstrating their work, their hardness tester, repeatability and their technique etc.

I can pick a knife up off my line, at any time, and tell you with a high degree of certainty what hardness it is and I can demonstrate it.

We should normalize this.

I am always up for it.

Might be easier (quicker?) to make D3V blades for your/our favorite folder.

CRK Magnacut is pretty good. I was able to send my Sebenza 21 in for a Magnacut re-blade. It’s cool…. Waiting for that CPK folder.

Did they keep your original blade?

I just know that vg-10 can be harder than that and I just assumed that theirs would be, because they do such a nice job with their heat treat.

If they state it is 59, it is indeed 59

I would want VG-10 over 60. It really is a decent steel.

Did they keep your original blade?

No they send it back. It cost about $100 with a re blast of the titanium. Knife came back like new.

I can only find one source showing 58-61. I assumed it would be listed more frequently.

That said- I like my Spyderco blades in VG10.
