Most likely, with the help of AI, the internet, and our own money.

Like, opinions, behavior, habits, activities.

That's what the apocalypse will be, and that's how everything can go to hell.

Something like total control, under a certain sauce that 99% of people will believe in, and everyone will be fine with it, while you'll be the only one who sees that something is going wrong.

And when you tell someone about it, they'll just say you're dumb.

That's what the 'apocalypse' and 'everything going to hell' will look like.
And that is why you should have a remote property😁

"The apocalypse is actually the opposite: it's when most benefits and goods become too accessible, and people simply start going insane from boredom.

And that's exactly what's happening literally everywhere right now.

A huge number of people are simply given all these benefits for free, thanks to a small layer of people who work extremely hard.

And when that layer of hard-working people starts getting smaller — and it's already shrinking — that's when everything will start going to hell.

Because all those benefits, all those free things that are handed out so often (you know very well to whom), exist only because a massive number of people in the past and present generations worked 12 or more hours a day. We're basically standing on the shoulders of giants, thinking we climbed so high ourselves.

And as soon as it turns out that this small layer of people who actually work hard can no longer support the huge mass of people who’ve gotten used to receiving benefits — often from welfare, the state, and so on — that’s when the real problem will hit.

Right now, thanks to the enormous resources left to us by previous generations, we can afford to play around with all these "new-fashioned ideas and views" that are largely destructive.

But as soon as everything that was built and provided by the hard-working people of past and current generations starts running out — and it already is — then it will be very interesting to see how the world copes going forward.

Sorry.

I have a perfect meal plan for the apocalypse, and the diets you assholes seem to maintain work flawlessly into it.

I completely agree, I am thinking more natural disasters than anything, I personally have been through floods, tornadoes, severe thunderstorms that knocked out power for days. I am not a prepper in the sense most think of the word. I'm not hoping the end of the world happens and they and their Rambo mentality with get them by. I just was wondering if in this day and age if more people are starting to do it

I definitely think it has become more mainstream. The stereotype that we most commonly associate with the term "prepper" is no longer so apparent.

A friend of mine who is a Marine, a Vietnam vet at that, is also one of the more liberal people I know (not meant as a pejorative). He lives on the coast and his preparedness is driven more by natural disaster possibilities than potential anarchy (neither being mutually exclusive). He and his wife practice preparedness, with food and water storage, studies of evacuation routes, and personal defense/security.

On the other hand, you have tech bros and celebrities building bunkers and compounds, probably because they are bored and envision or fantasize some sort of dystopian future that they believe they can insulate themselves from.

Regardless, practical skills are fun. In the words of Roland (featured on Alone), "Get woodsy". Cultivating a more stoic mindset is also of immense value (in my opinion).

So, I am not a chicken little the sky is falling type but I do see what's going on in the world and how divided they say our nation is, not trying to start any arguments I promise, but is anyone else learning what I call tradeable skills? Woodsmanship, leathercrafting, skinning and tanning, butchering, and a myriad of other things? I have gone back and researched the methods of my grandparents and great grandparents, in providing and procuring. I am planning on either a waddle or dead hedge fence around my garden area, building a greenhouse, and chicken coop this year, so everything will be read next year when the season starts. I practice bushcraft, not only because it's fun, but it's practical. Am I strange in my thinking? By the way I am 48.
If things get to that point we're all going to die.

Were all going to die

Someday probably

Were all going to die and were all going to die and I do not fear it. I fear the pain that preceeds it.

We are allllllllllll going to die.

Being an angry loner is only going to work for so long and humanity does not survive by abandoning what makes us successful as human beings, and that is our ability to create communities for the betterment and survival of our species.

I salute you for saying that, Dylan. I'm a little bit more pessimistic though, what would become of neighbors, communities and friends in a true SHTF situation. Maybe we can compromise on "have people skills but don't trust anyone" ?

The other Roland. Only "woodsy" on Wednesday. :)

100% agree. One can still be socially productive while still maintaining a certain wariness.

Drunken style Kung-Fu!

Just lull them into a false sense of security, then lop off what you need to eat, tie off and cauterize any bleeders, and keep them around for more meals. If they make a run for it, .22 and put em on a spit.
(Not that I am advocating cannibalism, but if times are tough and it is a choice of starving or surviving…..I did mention being from Chile🤣)
