But DeepSeek has a ton of sensitive topics, and it copies the others a lot, which is why it lags behind.


They do have a pretty fine interface for self-hosting, like when you deploy the model on your own computer or server.

But these are just funny moments, for example, it gets offended by Winnie the Pooh and stuff like that 🙄

A lot of them use pictures of Minions from the cartoon as their profile avatars. It’s not entirely clear why, but they apparently love them because it’s one of the few things they’re allowed to watch.


Also, to spot them during interviews, they ask the candidate to say something offensive about Kim Jong-un — something really crude and insulting.


And the guys just completely freeze and blue-screen like an old Windows PC.


I just heard this from someone who was talking about interviews and company breaches.

I watched my grandfather severely injure his hands and forearms on a table saw at least 3 times when I was a kid. Craftsman unit with safety features of... did they have those in the 70's? I won't say whiskey was involved, but he was from Blackwater KY and I won't say it wasn't. One of his brothers-in-law was severely short on fingers from a 'saw mill'. I don't know if this was a 5 foot circular blade that lived in its own house or a lot of bad engineering feeding into a chainsaw with a 6 foot bar. I got whacked in the pelvic brim by kickback from a table saw when I was in 7th grade shop class. I have some trepidation about power saws. Table saws in particular make me worry a bit.

(ETA There is also 25 years of power tool shenanigans that walked or got carried into my ER, including 'here, cut this with the chainsaw while I hold it in my 2 hands')

I bought a track saw. OMG. Straight cuts. No drama. Where have you been all my life?

I was at the Palm tree line last Sunday & Memorial Day listening to a Folk, Rock Country Swing band for a few hours, Neil Young, Alman Brothers, Kate Wolf & other fine geriatric tunes! The pic with the pier is Santa Monica pier I’m about 1.5 miles north…

This whole A.I. & Bitcoin stuff just doesn't make Any sense..... Ive heard people "try" to explain Bitcoin..... Are they actually explaining the data centers?
We Already HAVE A.I., Bitcoin, Flock, and whatever....So what's the new infrastructure actually for???

It's like building all these new Blockbuster stores now, on every corner, and Nobody wants them.....

I'm grateful to the AI and Crypto sphere for my short position.


You know what the problem is?


Take any period that was a real "breakthrough for humanity."


For example, when cars started being produced extremely quickly and cheaply.What was the result? A huge number of people could afford to buy a car.Even those who didn’t have that much money.


The same with any production.TVs, washing machines, refrigerators.


Before the production breakthrough, only very rich people could own these things, right?


Because technology became mass-produced, building houses became relatively cheaper, which allowed many generations before mine to actually buy a house at a reasonable price.


All people won massively from that progress.(They really won.)A ton of jobs appeared — in maintenance, production, operating all that equipment.And even now, almost 100 years later, it still provides work.


But now they’re presenting AI and Crypto as a "super mega breakthrough."


The only question is: what does the average, ordinary person actually win from it?


A discounted AI chatbot?


Do you understand what I’m getting at?


AI, data centers, and all this stuff are essentially eating ordinary people, whereas previous breakthroughs actually improved people’s lives.


Cars, appliances, machines, construction — I could go on for a long time.


Now, you see the market making all-time highs after all-time highs.And all of this is because AI and data centers are basically devouring many sectors.


What did any average guy, just a regular dude, actually get from the fact that AI is now worth trillions of dollars?


Most likely, he will even lose money and his job because of it.


But in return, they offer him a special subscription plan for an AI chatbot.


On average, the ordinary person actually received real benefits from genuine "technological breakthroughs."

And no matter how much you shout that "everyone wins," in reality, it seems it's not quite like that.
 
“AI data centers” are full of GPUs and optimized for generative AI, and though I agree they are a negative upon society, they aren’t going away even if the bubble bursts. Everything runs through data centers, Netflix, Amazon, iCloud, etc etc. it’s just that the big push to build them everywhere and suck all these small municipalities is being driven by the AI bubble.
