Random Thought Thread

Speaking of Costco, no more food samples till this Coronavirus situation is deemed as safe. OK, we know that all medical related stuff such as isopropyl alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, medical gloves, N95 particulate masks are sold put but SOL if looking for products like Clorox wipes, Lysol, hand sanitizers, liquid road, yada, yada... I did something for the first time in my life, all 56+ years of it: bought a whole Costco pack of Spam. I hear that stuff is bulletproof :)

ETA: Costcos down here limit water and paper products to 2 packs per punter.

I'll never forget going to Costco right after the store opened on January 2, 2000. There was a line of about 40 people waiting in the return line and every single one of them had a case of Spam in the cart to return after the big Y2K panic turned out to be a non-event.

I wouldn't be surprised Uncle Matty if the case you bought has been on the shelf since 2000 because I don't recall ever seeing a case of Spam in anyone's cart since then. Desperate times call for desperate food choices (or not!) :eek:

If it’s been marinating for 20 years, it could taste just like venison :eek:

As for TP, you can still buy kitchen towels at some stores. Just fold the sheets and cut in half and then cut in half again to get 4 perfect smaller squares.
 
I went to Safeway for a few items. It was very busy, but I suspect that it was because we have rain predicted for the next few days. I didn't see anyone buying SPAM.

It's good to be prepared, but there are limits.

Seriously though, bidets are awesome. I only discovered the cheap bidet adapters on Amazon last year (~$30-$40). Before that, the last time I'd checked years ago, the only options available were bidet replacement seats for $399, and my ass is too cheap for that. :p

$30 though? Money well spent, and it'll make my TP stash last that much longer.

They have the Tear-A-Square versions now, with the dotted lines. Just don't try to flush those. I think they usually tout that those don't fall apart in water.
 
Im hearing day by day situation being worse in usa about covid19.

Honestly ive checked many statistics sites and all say almost same things (can link you one i like the most). Covid19 is dangerous for people aged 70+ and evenmore dangerous for 80+ as death rate for 80+ is around 15% (and for 70-80 age 8%) and rates are being lowered as age lowers. 60-69 age 3.6% death. 50-59 1.3%. Rest ages are lower than 0.5% death rate.

There is around 126000 cases of covid19 from which just 4600 death and 67000 recoveries. Active cases are around 54000 in which 48000 are in mild condition and just around 6000 are in critical.

So covid19 affect elder people which have lower immunity. Also pre covid19 condition is important as people who had cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, hypertension and cancer suffer most and death rates show same as listed disease above death percents are in same order 10.5%, 7.3% 6.3% 6%, 5.6%.
As for normal non existing pre disease death rate is just 0.9%.

Also people who died during this last around 3 months from covid19 are 3.4%. When annualy seasonal viruses are case of death and percentage is about 1%...

Anyways in my opinion covid19 is well promoted virus which kills 80+ aged people who got counted days left anyway. So panic about covid19 is waste of time... everything is in gods hand and if its not his will then covid19 wont affect one and if it is god will for one to die then with or without covid19 that will happen for sure...

Anyways this is my two cents about covid19 which i wanted to share with you so sorry if went too far and been boring lol...
