3 commonly available household disinfectants that are most effective at killing SARS-Cov2:

- 62-80% alcohol. ETOH (ethanol alcohol. Yes, Everclear 151 or 190 works) or IPA (Isopropyl alcohol). Methanol is toxic, and can be absorbed through the skin, so avoid contact with methanol or methanol containing products like Denatured alcohol. >4log (99.99%) reduction in 30 seconds. 90+% alcohol evaporates too quickly. Diluting it down to 70-75% increases the contact time for better disinfection

- bleach/Clorox with a concentration of at least 0.21% also shows >4-5log reduction (kills 99.99% to 99.999%) in 30 seconds. Diluting the standard Clorox concentrate (5.25% - 7.5%. Check the label for exact concentration. eg. dilute newly store bought 5.25% bleach concentrate at a ratio of 1 cup bleach concentrate, to 9 cups water, you have 0.5% bleach solution. 1 cup concentrate to 19 cups water = 0.26%) will allow you to stretch out what you have.

Understand that sodium hypochlorite (bleach) naturally breaks down/decomposes over time (especially if exposed to sunlight). A dilution of 0.21% should be discarded and remade daily. Bottles of Clorox concentrate that are 2+ years old, have questionable concentration/efficacy remaining due to natural breakdown.

- Hydrogen Peroxide at 0.5% also provides ~4log (99.99%) reduction in about 60 seconds.

Lysol (benzalkonium chloride) and other quaternary ammonium disinfectants (really long chemical names with numbers, and "ammonium" near the end), need up to 10 minutes of wet contact to kill SARS-Cov2. i.e. Lysol wipes don't have anywhere near enough liquid for that.

Likewise, Chlorhexidine Gluconate (Hibiclens liquid soap, commonly found in medical facilities) also doesn't kill this virus very effectively.

I underestimate ALL the bugs.

Just fucking dance. And touch the hell out of your face and gather in groups of 6+ in public and stand like, 3 feet apart.

Be not afraid.

This too is temporary and will pass.

Found 2 full spray bottles of 409 with lemon scent. Active ingredient is dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride at .3% and "other ingredient" 99.7%. Basically water, LOL. I think that this shoed do. Did you say to bathe my cat in it? :D

Personally speaking, I am not and I have been stockpiling things for about 3-4 weeks now. I admit that I should've grabbed more TP and that darn Lysol from Costco, but even Uncle Matty is not perfect! I know that this is hard to fathom, but there you have it :P

Now, I have been telling the (grown up) kids and the Exs and the everyone from the neighbors and friends, but most just dismissed me for being the ever so cautious myself. I think that this weekend was when reality hot them all on top off there heads like a brick and today was the final straw for almost all because all their works suspended and everything else cancelled.

I am done going out looking for more TP, just may walk to the local Albertsons for fresh produce every several days as I prefer fresh fruits to supplements but may have to stop that habit too? Anyway aside from the local grocery super, I ain't going anywhere for at least 2 weeks.

I'm gonna practice my dance moves. On the front steps of whatever establishments decide to close. Then post up to youtube.

I've got lots of new moves to practice from the video I posted above.

Join me in celebrating a less crowded public arena since everyone will be at home having zero fun... it sounds like less fun than I'll be having anyhow. Everyone is different.

LETS DANCE!

How many of you have the seasonal cold symptoms? I do  and have felt like this for about a week! I don’t have aches and pains, no fatigue, no fever, no shortness of breath and no coughing, dry or otherwise, but I do feel congested and my head feels a bit heavy. There are a combination of possibilities but this has caused me to keep my distance from my elderly mother who lives with me (big house, plenty of space and distance) and BTW, she also displays and had displayed seasonal cold/flu symptoms before me.

How close do you think that you are to being ordered to shelter in your places? I feel that we are very close here in San Diego county because our reported cases keep jumping exponentially but no reported deaths as of yesterday evening, which I’m sad to say will just be a matter of time. MCAS Miramar where was used to quarantine the infected citizens arriving from China this past month, has reported cases of the a few marines diagnosed with Covid-19.

For the last few years it happens to me around now when things start to warm up. Also happens when it gets very humid. End up taking Allegra-D or similar for a few days.

I’m quite healthy relative to my peers so I should be able to endure flu or date I say, no I won’t :P

I have taken the Teraflu (sp?) tea-like powder packs the last couple of nights which woohoo, knocks me out because it has acetaminophen as its medicinal ingredient.
