Random Thought Thread

I love cats. Just can't finish a whole one by myself.

You are one sick dude. I like that in a person. :p

I was temped to grab it but i already have 2 prototypes and somehow that didnt seem fair. But dam, does it look good with that antique micarta. I cant wait to actually use one of them. Right now they're sitting im my drawer waiting for me to have a free minute. Ive been working 72 hour weeks and will be for the next 7 weeks... that being said I will definitely be back next week for one in d3v that i can beat on.

that someone shopped an image of a Chinese restaurant sign with that stereotyped misunderstanding of english and the reference to eating cat on it probably has nothing to do with any racist leanings. My bad, carry on- I'm not the PC police

I'm sure it's my white privilege showing, but I have become somewhat fatigued by the tendency today of people becoming offended from what I perceive as being relatively minor social justice transgressions. I know, I don't get to decided what offends someone else, but the end effect has become that if everything is going to offend someone I'm starting to become less concerned about it and make less effort not to offend someone. I think I can honestly say I've gotten to the point that I simply don't care if I offend anymore. I'm not hateful and I try to be respectful and make it a point to always follow the golden rule but if someone's feelings still get hurt I just can't find it in myself anymore to give a damn. I do my best.

If you look at what goes on in something like "The Family Guy" which is publicly broadcast on the air, it's way more offensive.

I blame the comedian Louis CK for desensitizing me.

*shrug*

This forum is intended to be respectful of others. An inclusive space where like-minded knife nuts can congregate. We're a friendly group of people, though it is inevitable that someone will at some point cross some line. I encourage folks to be kind, and cut people some slack and keep things light.

to be clear, there's no offense taken here- I'm not of Chinese descent. If I were, though, I wonder how I'd feel about this community and CPK in general if I stumbled across the image that I responded to.

Maybe someone of Chinese descent seeing that photo shopped image would find it funny and harmless. Maybe not. I don't think it's worth going there, at the risk of alienating potential customers and whatnot, (which I'm probably doing right nowo_O)

Anyway, I hope no one has any hard feelings about this. The topic is definitely a lightning rod these days

Darn UffDa! Provocateur extraordinaire. And all because we started picking on the coyote in his avatar. It is a coyote, right? Not a donkey?!

The masses will never agree what's right or wrong, tasteful or tasteless. They need only make me Dictator of Earth and I will reluctantly and begrudgingly take on the mantle of such responsibility.

Now, move that f*ckin' donkey, bring out the barbeque and bring on the cats.

And address me as The Khan.

You and me both. And as I get older this becomes more and more true. :)

My wife was telling me before about an article she was reading today about how pumpkin spice lattes are racist... i honestly thought she was joking but no
