What happened to this?
I didn't get in on the pre-order because of reading that and thinking I will just buy them on the Friday sales. I also don't like paying up front in full, so it made sense to just wait for the sale(s).
I really hope I don't have to wait until all the pre-orders are done before I can get one..
(FYI, I'm proxying this weeks sale for two friends)
I really hope it stays 50% of the knives made go to pre orders and 50% for Friday sales...!!!!
It won't be 50:50 because there are about 100 knives pre-ordered and only 160 blades in process. I should have stopped the pre-order sooner. But I didn't.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
(I do have material for another 300 on order now, though it won't arrive and yield work for a few more months)
I guess I should have said "I figure probably about half and half, over all, I guess, if I think about it"
That was directed to the pre-order people, and I wanted there to be the expectation there that half of the orders wouldn't be going to them, because some of the knives
will be sold outside of that preorder before all of the preorder is satisfied and that could rub some pre-paying people the wrong way if expectations aren't managed. But the reality is I intend to service the people who have paid up front as a higher priority. There will be other sales, but it is my intention bias the shipping to the people who have placed an advance order. That way, when something
inevitably comes up (which always happens) I haven't left hanging the people I have obligations to. As a general rule, if I'm holding your money, you're the higher priority.
I'm sorry, truly I am. I wish I could make everybody happy all of the time, and I assure you I loose sleep trying, but ultimately I have to prioritize and
the people on the list with money in my bank account are the higher priority and will get a larger percentage of the inventory until the pre-order is satisfied.
Please understand I want everybody to get what they need and I have material on order to produce more and I intended to make enough for everyone as soon as I can. I genuinely appreciate everybody's interest in our work and we will strive to meet your expectations.
