Random Thought Thread

I was having a severe muscle spasm in my back, on my right side along my spine below my shoulder blade to the bottom of my ribs. So severe it hurt to breathe and I’d have to lean over to the right because it was contracting so tight.

I broke a right rib in 1985 and it will still do that to me on occasion if I turn at a weird angle to get something in the back seat or in the shower, etc. Feels like someone has a Shiv in my side and is slowly twisting it :(

Oh no. That’s terrible, was it never properly healed or something?

I was hoping to be done with it soon but 35 years and it’s still bugging you....

It only happens once or twice a year and lasts for 10-15 minutes but it still there and I have never gone back to have it checked out. I figure all they will do is charge me way too much for x-rays and/or a MRI to tell me there is nothing they can do.

I was in a really bad auto accident and that was the last thing they were worried about so maybe it did not heal quite right. I went back for a check up about 6 months after the wreck and the doctor said it had something to do with the cartilage also being damaged and it may never heal correctly but who knows, I just know when I turn the wrong way too fast!

Yeah, that sucks! I dislocated one around that time frame right over my heart, still pops out when I least expect it but never from hard work- always pointing in a direction with my arm extended, reaching to pick something up, tying my boots, sneezing, etc.
lights up every nerve in heart attack central and scares me for a quick moment until I realize what’s happening.
Grandpa sure made getting older look much easier than it really is, but, he was a classy guy.

Since we we went that route, her is a picture of our new pup Marley playing tug of war with her older brother Joker. I know it belongs in the pet thread but I’m willing to push the envelope to get us off of politics. She’s a cutie, a Malador, Malamute/Labrador mix. We got her from a rescue about an hour away.

Sorry for the sideways picture. Don’t know how to fix it.
So she's gonna be a shedding machine? :p

Can you please explain how I was injecting politics? I was trying to be as polite and neutral as possible and even give (IMO) a funny similarity. It is like saying "but" in a sentence, essentially you negate what you just said. For example, "that’s a great idea, but we tried it before and it didn’t work". It isn’t a fact, it’s an opinion "that every other woman in America owe a lot to the efforts of RBG". Facts can be proven.

Some liked her and thought she was good for the country. Some didn’t like her and thought she was bad for the country.

Politics can be very polarizing and this isn’t the place for that.

I was agreeing with you. I guess I should've quoted to BigDJ's post.

If you have an iPhone, you can go to the edit option and turn the pic so it looks wrong on your phone, then again till it looks right. Then the bottom will be tagged instead of the BF forums software determining the bottom and creating a tag.

I think one of the problems with politics these days is that social media has allowed people to unwittingly put themselves into little echo chambers where their beliefs are reinforced by others with similar beliefs until people with different perspectives are just absolutely convinced that their point of view is the absolute right point of view and the other point of view, they, are wrong and are infringing upon everyone else's rights. People get so furious. It's gotten to the point where otherwise rational people can't even have meaningful conversations anymore, it just gets too ugly.
