I must say, i am very excited for the 2021 Carothers line up: folder, new UF, maybe an integral Shiv, maybe an axe head. My poor wallet. I do need to go on a diet, never thought it'd be the Carothers diet.

What are y'all excited for?
New UF, but that is looooong way away, Nathan mentioned fall 2021. If he does offer a pre-order, it will be more likely a 2022 knife-buy. As much as I like the lines of UF, I honestly dont know what I would do with such a knife.
Is there someone here that uses his/her UF for bushcraft, fooling in woods tasks?

Kephart make way more sence to me. (probably a buy).

But, I would like to see a comeback of HDFK, that would be cool af.

Sorry to hear some of you have to take such strong medication. That would be pretty hard when it is ongoing..
There are some intense yet interesting experiences and stories here.

To answer above, I am soo excited for the new UF. Hoping for a pre-order and continual of stainless options. Then I will be super happy and content, no matter the wait.
I think the UF and folder will be my only purchases (across any brand) this year.

I had always thought that having a golden tongue was a metaphor!

I can see how it looks like a golden tongue ... but I just see some buck teeth.

Sorry to hear about the painkillers. I am taking morphine. It sucks sometimes. Sometimes I feel sleepy and when I start going to sleep, I wake up and feel like I had slept for 8 hours. Then sometimes I feel wide awake, open a soda to drink while watching TV, then wake up four or five hours later with a warm wasted soda. LOL! It's crazy.

I was given morphine last summer at like 3am for a kidney stone. I didn’t realize that they still had that stuff. I was like “give me everything!” Kidney stones suck.

It’s not life threatening but I had surgery on two joints in my left foot. They cut some warped bone off and pulled out a fragment from a poorly healed fracture that I didn’t know I had. Apparently they also discovered that I have no more cartilage left in that part of my foot. I was healing fine, I thought, until I woke up yesterday and there was a new kind of pain, like a nerve pain. So it’s hello sleepytime meds again. I dislike painkillers in general but I really hate needing them. I had busy plans for this spring and summer so I just want everything to heal properly.

I’m sorry to hear about your own pain. That sort of thing can destroy your life so I hope it turns out ok.

Solid lineup:
Remainder of the DEK1 (standard and swedged, Delta 3V and AEBL)
Remainder of the little Boot Dagger (20-30, sale in two weeks)
Remaining K18 swords (10-20 of them this summer)

Kephart (on machines now)
5" Utility Field Knife (bare bones value priced utility knife for Amazon distribution experiment. Material is here and being decked now)
7" Super Duty Field Knife (utility grade for Amazon distribution experiment. Material is here and will be decked next, to 1/4". This will be a "Busse level" unbreakable knife)

There will be some kind of new Utility Fighter for a new customer. The details are fuzzy but will firm up by summer.

Other projects on the white board that don't have material made yet and/or aren't solid on a schedule:
Lorien's Kukri (90% chance)
Lorien's next DEK project (90% chance)
Some kind of weapon from the twisted mind of Dr. Keffeler (50% chance)
Ninja Swords! (25%)
Axe head (25%)
folder (CPK Folding Field Knife) (90%)
folder (Mark's new folder, Delta 3V, in process now)
Integral Shiv (75%)
Three finger micro EDC (75%)
AEBL Kitchen knife (25%)
Some kind of little dagger made from the Kukri drops (10%)

Knives that are out of production that may return at some point:
HDFK
EDC2-EDC3
10" Chopper

I'm sure I've missed something, but these are the things we're currently moving on.

Edit to add:
We're currently running three tumblers, two automatic grinders and 5 machining centers (4 Mori Seiki and one Kia Mori clone). One of those is a larger 4 axis horizontal with pallet changer that replaced our smallest machine (the Romi). Our manufacturing capabilities are much larger than most people realize and we're sheading most of our non-knife related work. 2021 will be the year we transition from large semi-custom maker to small manufacturer. We were already an S corp and we've registered Carothers Performance Knives as a business entity for tax purposes. 2020 sucked for a number of reasons but I'm optimistic about 2021. I appreciate every one of you who have been a part of this journey.

Also, we're hiring, if anybody is looking....

I took mine into the woods last summer and used it to harvest some Reishi mushroom/fungi as well as some food prep in camp. I don't know if I'd want to use it for heavy bushcraft/wood processing but it was fun to carry around.

Hopefully some of these things run into unexpected delays, as CPK was rapidly on its way to being the only knifemaker I collect, and there's at least $8,000 worth of things on this list I will need.

^ about time that CPK is elevated from the Hosted Knifemaker category to the Manufacturers Forum on this Site!
I probably won't ask Spark to move our sub, I kind of like it where it is. It's more of a change in our business model. This affects things like accounting and distribution strategies but I think our home on Blade Forums is pretty well concrete at this point.

Ooooo, TWO folders!

Also what type of hiring are you doing? A model perhaps? Lemme know if you need some head shots. Or hand shots. If the money is enough I'll even do some ankle work.

I'm gonna need two of those 3-finger micro EDCs. One for the wife and one for me! She uses my knives all the time for tasks around the house. I wonder if she knows what kind of quality she's working with...

Awesome line up !!!!

Ok I’ve got to ask :p Any chance with the Amazon distributed knives. That we may see some sold here with regular CPK finish ? Regular is probably or absolutely the wrong word to associate with CPK knives. So let’s say there’s the utility amazon line. Maybe a signature line offering for forum members ???

Thanks. Mine is permanent, DDD - Degenerative Disc Disease in my lower and middle back. I also had whiplash in my neck. I wouldn't say that it destroyed my life, but it destroyed my plans. I can't just play video games all day like kids can.
It took me a whole day to build my new 2X4 Basics workbench even with the wood cut for me at HD. 20 years ago I could have built it in 2 hours or less, and that is including cutting the wood myself.
But it is what it is. I just make the best of it and do what I can. I have my hobbies. I just can't put as much time into them as I would like.

I'll have to save my money in hopes that I can get a DEF in the UF preorder!

Kephart on machines?

Ooooooh!

Can we get a preview of what it will not not look like? :D

PS - I had a gorgeous DEF from several years ago . . . very shiny blade, too. No idea what possessed me to let go of it, but I would not make that mistake again.

I think I remember that one. Did it have carbon fiber scales? Yeah, that one was pretty sick.
