Well that’s just great.
Now they’re all going to expect to have their cranks yanked after they read about this.

I read about this yesterday and I was glad that the mauled child, although quite mangled up, seems to be out of critical danger after his mom fiercely fought back the young mountain lion. I was sad to read that the park rangers had to dispatch this young mountain lion after he was found cornered and snarling but they are the pros with wildlife and I’m not.

The good news apart from the child surviving the ordeal being that the mommy mountain lion and the other cub showed up, the mom was already GPS’d and the other youngster got tranquilized, tagged and GPS’d. The casualties could’ve been worse!

We lost power and the storm had not even reached us yet. Grr!
I've been trying to convince myself to get one of those Generac propane generators for the "whole house". I have a 500 gallon in-ground propane tank.

Hope you guys are okay otherwise, Jo.

(We filled the tub with water yesterday so we'd have water for flushing, just in case.)

I’m thinking about doing one of those as well next year. I’ll run it off NG from the house, but have a in ground LP tank for when the big earthquake hits and shuts off NG for a while. I’ve heard you can go about two weeks with 500 gallons…not sure if that’s enough honestly.

I guess if you limit the time it's on. I "think", if you run it full time, you'll get about a week based upon calculations I've done in the past while ruminating on it.

It's not an inexpensive solution, but my wife (and dog) would certainly love me more if I decide to just go for it.

We have a natural gas Generac and it is awesome. I would highly recommend getting one. Kicks on seconds after the power drops off. Out here in boonies if something major goes down it can be days before it comes back up

We lose power several times a year. Sometimes it's hours, at worst a few days. Too many trees...too much rain.

Yup same here, we always lose power several times in the winter, and it’s cold. We live right at the bottom of the pass so all the winds literally funnel down and create a hell of a vortex wind schute. I’m hoping I can get one for cost and just do it myself, I can do the gas piping and auto transfer switch myself, that’s pretty much all they are. 😁

Come on out here when you're done. You can even take pictures of your knives while working on it...and I won't hold it against you. (And I think I have most of the stuff you'll want to quench your thirst.) ;)

We lost power here TWICE today. It's this kind of bullshit that burned up our beloved shitty shitty Kia. Fortunately the Moris are okay. Because they're Japanese. And Japanese stuff doesn't just burn up for no good reason.

Thanks, we are, but it is hard on the machines. I hope you guys fare well tonight.
