It was excellent. Two years is way too long to wait for part 2 though…

Although, if you aren’t a fan of Frank Herbert’s Dune novels or haven’t read them, it may not appeal to you in the same way.

It’s worth the watch, but I think there are missed opportunities for character and plot development that could have made it much better, which, is disappointing considering the length of the film, especially since there is going to be more than one film to tell the story. I am also not crazy about some of the casting, but some are spot on.

FWIW, I enjoyed the book, (Dune), when I read it many moons ago. Sci-fi is not my go-to genre, especially in recent years, but there have been a few exceptions in the past year or two.

Two weeks ago, my neighbor's wife across the street saw a mountain lion strolling down our street.

2 days ago, my dogs started behaving weird. This is from this morning in our (other) neighbor's yard. In the background our fence.

Keep in mind this is in the middle of the very populated Bay Area.

It's funny to me how people complain that hunting is cruel. Like, those deer that I shoot were going to have a happy ending? Had I not shot them I don't know how they were going to die, but I can about guarantee it was going to be orders of magnitude less pleasant way to go. Like having your legs and back eaten off while you're alive, for example...
