Rank your Paramilitary 2 (for those of you who have or had one)

Out of 40+ knives, its in the 30's for sure. I never did follow the hype surrounding it. I think there are better knives available.

Probably top 3 for me... top 5 without a doubt, but probably top 3 (I'd have to sit down and really think about it to rank it more precisely). :) It's a great knife. How I judge a knife's greatness is whether or not I could be happy if it was my only knife (egad! :D)... and the Para2 definitely passes that test. So yeah, probably top 3.

Its my favorite folder overall. I have had 4 or 5 of them over the years. With me, folders come and go. I have had one or more of most production brands, but I still have the PM2. I would love to try out a Military with more clip placement options, but that's another topic.

I have one PM2 and I like it a lot. Having served in the military I'm drawn to the camo design. Being left handed I find the compression lock no problem in disengaging the blade. I like the size and the weight. There's nothing I can find that I dislike. The truth is I can't give it a number rating because I like and carry several other knives in an unordered rotation. Rotation is a poor choice of words because I usually just helter-skelter pick one up and am satisfied. If it has smooth mechanics, then it becomes a favorite, and my PM2 qualifies.

like idk not really in the list for me. I didnt like it, didnt care for the lock at all i gave it a fair shot but i still carry an endura. Just wish i could get a g10 one.

I had one and ended up simply giving mine away to a friend (with massive hands) who loved it.

I agree with all those others who are somewhat "ehhh" about the PM2. For me it was okay but overly thick in the handle and oddly short on cutting edge length. My Techno seems to rival it re. blade length 59mm vs. 78mm for those who need to know!!

G10 Enduras would be a slam-dunk for me...

Hey man check out my thread it has some words from Mr. Glesser in it that give high hopes for that.

If the para 2 was a back lock or regular liker lock i would absolutly have loved it though. Just didnt like the lock personally.

Dropped my pm2 today... Not impressed with the flimsy tip. I guess you can't have it all, I like that is so fine but I wish it was a little stronger. Bent the tip pretty good from about 2 to 3 foot high on a soft epoxy floor. I've had 20$ knives that survived much more

Number 1 for me. The Para 2 is the knife that ended the search for my EDC folder.

Top 10 for now. Its just not comfortable to carry to me. I do love the design and lock but the handle is a little to big for me.

Top 1 for me I love them all
Top 2 sage series surprisingly enough

1. BM Barrage M390 steel
2. Spydie Caly 3.5 ZDP-189/400J2
3. BM Contigo M4
4. Spydie Ulize VG10
5. Spydie Military
6. Spydie PM2
7. BM Adamas 375
8. BM Adamas 275 fixed D2
9. BM Emissary s30v
10. Spydie Police VG10

I think that would be my top ten.

My top 3 for EDC is:
1) PM2
2) BM943
3) ZT0350

But for hard use:
1) ZT0350
2) PM2
3) BM953

I just bought one from BladeHQ the other day and it came with 3 small chips in the blade. I had not used it to cut a single thing so I emailed Sypderco to see what they can do about it as I do not want to return the knife. I think its a fantastic blade and it fits my hand perfectly (and so does the ZT 0801) so I'm hoping Spyderco will get that straightened out as I love the knife.

My Favorite EDC:
Delica 4 FFG

Favorite Hard Use Folder:
Manix 2 XL

My PM2 ranks 3rd, It's a good all around folder, but I prefer others for certain tasks.

Out of curiosity, what do you expect out Spyderco to do being that you do not want to send the knife in? Are you asking for some type of compensation?

He might like the knife and want to get replacement from spyderco directly instead of dealing with seller.

This is a very interesting thread. The PM2 doesn't even make my rotation. I like bigger knives. My favorite production is the Millie, of which I have 6. From the M4(2) to the M390 to the S90V, etc. I love the Millies. Then it's my Hinderer XM18's or a CRK Zaan, which I think is just barely big enough. I just sold my Manix M4 because I love the steel, but the knife was too small. Super interesting how tastes differ. The PM2....meh.

Edit......if Spyderco came out with a large Southard.....OMG, I'd beat a path to their door to buy one!! That might make my "Grail" knife. :)

Laws limit me to 3.5" around here so I'm happy to be the beneficiary of you desire for larger blades!

In a particular order.

1. Manix2
2. Para-Military2
3. Yojimbo2
