I hope your arms stay healthy, we are getting some great info from your testing. I really look forward to seeing how that M2 performs. I really need to get an angle grinder to start shaping those M2 hacksaw blades that Sodak sent me. I'm hoping to have a new top on my workbench in the next couple of weeks so I can mount up my reloading gear and hopefully a belt sander and other good power goodies on a good solid base.
I was curious about that as well. Seems like it would hold quite an edge at that hardness, but I can't imagine that steel has a lot of carbides at all. Still, seems like a steel that pays off all that stropping by holding that razor edge longer. It would be interesting to see the scrapivore tested, (SR101 at whats suppose to be 64hrc) but same blade length as the swamp warden so is probably to short as well. If you are interested I'd be willing to let you test mine, let me know.

Its probably already been asked ,for that I apoligize. What knife did u use for the m390? Been wanting to give this steel another try after such a dissapointment with the mpr. I actually traded mpr off for a lumlfti cause of this , yet to try the m4 on it but it was a pain in the ass to sharpen . I'm guessing from this I lucked out and got a higher end hardness one from bm . Would not sharpen on sharpmaker had to bust out edge pro reperofiled whole thing ,way to thick![]()
Is there a slight recurve on it(710) ? Similar to 790, or is that the pic?
I'd recommend either the 581 Barrage or AFCK in M390. Neither one should have a recurve and both have great ergos. I like the 581 over the 710-1 for some odd reasonIts probably already been asked ,for that I apoligize. What knife did u use for the m390? I know these aren't super steels, but any interest in doing 14C28N, or any other Sandvik steels?
