Damn reading this really makes me want to drink beer. (Stupid Middle East) Its going to be months before i am allowed to drink a beer

I love beer. The heavier the better. Oatmeal stouts, imperial stouts, barley wines, and so forth are my favorites.

Weyerbacher makes really a really good Imperial Stout and a barley wine. Breckenridge Brewery also makes a great Oatmeal Stout, probably my favorite one.

Apart from that I drink lots of bourbon. Wild Turkey is my standby, always available and always good. Van Winkle 15yr is my favorite, although it's tough to track down around here.

For beer I stick with Shock Top and I just found a beer called Cottonmouth thats brewed locally by Swamp Head Brewery and its very good.

If its hard liquor I'll mostly drink Sailor Jerry's or Jack.

I was just wondering what the favorite malt beverages are for fellow Rat Packers.

My favorite malt? Single malt!

Had to bring this up again... saw Shiner mentioned so many times I had to find some to try...

Have to say... very good beer... so thanks for the introduction to this...

Steinlager, ice cold on hot summer day
Snow Cap, on a cold winter night
and a few Widmer Hefeweitzen in-between
The hef is real food, Vit B from the unfiltered yeast. Vit C from the lemon slice floating atop, no fat, sodium or cholesterol [sic]- could even be health food.

I like anything by Rogue, Heavy Seas, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Dogfish Head 90 Minute Imperial IPA, Hobgoblin Brown Ale, Blue Heron, etc. :)

Big fan of:

Boulder Beer Hazed and Infused
Sweetwater 420
Bearden Beer market's microbrewed West Coast IPA
Lucky Bucket IPA
A Downtown Grill and Brewery ALT

Beer:
Sam Adams Winter Lager
Cooper's Sparkling Ale
Guinness/Bass Ale Black & Tan

Booze:
Talisker
Basil Hayden
Woodford Reserve

Some great brews that I've had lately are:

- DogFish Head "Bitches Brew" Stout

- Goose Island Bourbon County Stout

Also, just bought Firestone Walker's "14th Anniversary" and "Old Rasputin's XII". Both of these are bourbon barrel-aged.

I am a beer whore. My gateway beer was Coors Light but I have moved way beyond that. Here is my short list:

IPA: Racer 5 (Bear Valley)

Imperial IPD: Pliny the Elder (Russian River), Gubna (Oskar Blues)

Sours: Roddenbach, Consecration (Russian River), Supplication (Russian River), Eric's Ale (New Belgium), La Falle (New Belgium)---As you can see I like Sours!!

Hefeweizens: Hoegaarden, Franziskaner

Belgium: Affligem triple, St. Bernardus, Duvel,

Amber: Strand Brewery

If anyone can find any of these beers where they live I highly suggest to try them out, especially the sours. It is amazing the beer selection out there once you get past Bud, Coors, Miller, Corona, etc...
