I just saw the knife and soon there after, had to change my pants. The thing is freakin huge. Wasn't sure if this was going to be another joke thread, paid off though!

Sweet!!! It'll be the best rat ever. Be under $200 please?

The RC6 is $110 or so retail, would imagine this will be around $160 maybe?

I'm curious-what is the advantage to cant'ing the blade forward? Just a balance issue?

And for some reason, as soon as you mentioned naming the RC-10, The "Cayman" came to mind. Maybe I just had a flashback to one of the early photos of the RC-6 skinning one!

I see some crazy name coming from the peruvian rainforest, the izula, a small yet fierce ant, why not Anaconda for this one, Big and though, at home in the amazonia ? :)

Well I have to say I like the looks of that, looking forward to having more details, keep on doing a great job jeff, mike and shon.

Canting the blade slightly will make it chop better, as well as look sexier. With looking sexy being the most important part. Don't ever forget that this knife industry is all about hype, bullshit and tacti-cool stuff. No one needs this new RC blade. A damn machete will do just as good. But, we're gonna make it anyway just because it's cool.

as long as you dont call it the Candiru

awsome knife..... hey every one likes a good toy now and then jeff.... you just made a really exceptional one.... ill be waiting for its release...

No one needs any RC knife but you still see us buying them over Kabars :)

Can't you just start selling these ASAP? Or sell me a prototype? :D

I'll be freezing my ass off using one of these in the winter lol

Great Job Jeff. Glad the handle looks much nicer than the RTAK's.

Instead of canting the blade, how about curving the spine (keep the cutting edge straight, i.e. no recurve)?

I think I even made the statement that this would be an over-priced machete ;)

Let's see $9 for a high-end machete.
Over priced machete.

So this will be TWELVE dollars!!

That's exactly the way I look at a knife like this: a toy. It really has no use for my world when a standard machete will do just as good. The original RTAK design was to be a cross between a sheath knife and a machete for the Peru AF guys. They liked it and used it for a while, then went back to their cheap machetes. My point being is if I needed a knife this size to chop with I'd rather have a hatchet or small forest axe, if I need to clear brush, give me a machete. Again, they are cool toys and are a decent compromise blade but what I would do with a blade like this is throw it in the truck as a survival tool.
