Great Job Jeff. Glad the handle looks much nicer than the RTAK's.

Instead of canting the blade, how about curving the spine (keep the cutting edge straight, i.e. no recurve)?

Let's see $9 for a high-end machete.
Over priced machete.

So this will be TWELVE dollars!!

Sounds good to me. I'll take ten.:D

It's too bad the name Anaconda has been taken. That's a good name for a big jungle knife.

Ahhh just creamed my pants.......Just a toy I can buy myself for X-mas??? Most L will do with it is make fuzz sticks for my fire pit in my back yard. :) Just a toy. My wife carries a hachet and a leatherman and doesn't understand me ???? Under $70 for her $$$$ for me :)

Just so long as you don't name it the RC-17. I would hate to see Rat Cutlery added to the long list of companies sued by Dick Swan.

Very cool, a great name would be the Jaguar, or the word in the native language like you did with the Izula, which is "yaguara", meaning "animal that kills in a single bound."

Feel free to send me a free blade if you pick this name. :D

The point of canting it is to change the angle of the EDGE in relation to the handle. Just curving the top won't really do anything (besides change the aesthetics). Just curving the top would also thin the blade and change the overall shape.

That's exactly the way I look at a knife like this: a toy. It really has no use for my world when a standard machete will do just as good. The original RTAK design was to be a cross between a sheath knife and a machete for the Peru AF guys. They liked it and used it for a while, then went back to their cheap machetes. My point being is if I needed a knife this size to chop with I'd rather have a hatchet or small forest axe, if I need to clear brush, give me a machete. Again, they are cool toys and are a decent compromise blade but what I would do with a blade like this is throw it in the truck as a survival tool.

We thank you for designing and making this knife possible. I hope to get one after they get out.

Call it the "BFK" (Big 'Functional' Knife). :D

On a serious note, I think something along the lines of "beast" translated to South American would be awesome.
