Did you ever figure anything out? I got one here that doesn't cook or clean, though she came with a nice set of powertools

Lol. I heard some guy put together a manual for women, but misplaced it before it got to the publisher. Was a sad, sad day indeed.

That's not right. The Ontario RAT knives were designed by us. Ontario still pays us a royalty on those knives, so we are indeed affiliated.

Oops!:foot:

It was early...I meant that there is a distinct difference between the two, and there is no current partnership between the two companies.

I try to make sure that people are aware of the difference between you.

I'll shut up now!!

:o

Sorry!

That is a sweet looking knife. If it's just for fun and all, I don't have anything in 52100 or cpm3v yet, how about using one of those ? <hint> <hint> :p

Oh jesus....

It AIN'T gonna happen!

...wouldn't that defeat the point of getting a RAT?

Exactly. There are numerous other companies making knives out of exotic steels and charging a handsome price for them. I'm sorry, but IMO, the extra price does not justify itself in extra "use."

wha? not super unobtanium s95lsv 2.6 hammer folded and sprinkled with fairy dust with all titanium hardware? i hear they quench it in whale bubber and have to polish it on spotted owls ... thats not to much for a 10 inch blade..... its just a slight price incress.... i mean who needs a car any way....

Yes....must have that...:eek::D

No one needs this new RC blade. A damn machete will do just as good. But, we're gonna make it anyway just because it's cool. ...There are numerous other companies making knives out of exotic steels and charging a handsome price for them. Was worth a try, I figured it would be "cool"...:D

For my purposes, I put my large blade (Dog Father) in my pack and use it to baton wood. So I am happy with a heavier thicker blade. It's 21 oz and .275 inches thick.

As just another data point, here's a vote for heavy/thick knives that never ride on my hip. At 10" that would always be a pack knife for me.

With all that being said -I'll buy one just cause it's a RAT!

Marathonman

RAT folks like cheap cool stuff :D

EXACTLY! I always throw a super geek fit whenever I find some new cool and CHEAP piece of gear. Then all the money in my wallet somehow manages to disappear. Can't imagine why! :D

I was just thinking, I wonder what would Binki would think?

Remember that commercial where they ask cartoon animals/characters what they thought about something and Binki says, "it scared the &*(&*%$#^%#% out of me" and the guy says, "GREAT, that was the response we were looking for".

You should forge it from the purest Mithril, with magic runes engraved upon the blade.Wait for a new moon to appear, then raise the blade over your head.Cast a handfull of diamond dust into the air, whilst chanting a Dwarven spell. If all the diomand dust is drawn into the runes when the spell is complete, you have crafted something wondrous.

oh so busse is spendy? what about the randall people... or the custom people , i think i saw an izula sized comp knive for 4000 bucks.... or come to think of it barkies are pretty spendy too. not to mention what people pay for folders around here

so expensive is i think in your own perspective.

Couldn't agree more. Whatever anyone wants to spend their money on is their own business. One thing we will never let this forum degenerate into is a forum that is void of individual choice. Every one is welcome here, no matter what knives you buy and use!
