Thats why you have earned my respect jeff. You say it how it is. you make a good product and it stands on its own 2 feet. and thats how i feel about the things i make. i make them the best i can for the criteria i forsee. my name is on every thing i make for a reason. if i dont like it . it doesnt go out the door period. and also why i never worry about or hound you about release dates. i know you will do the best as you see fit. its your names in that work.

I have many other makers in my collection. with varying degrees of like. Money is one of the last things i think of when looking for a tool. its how well it does its job , or my happeness of ownership. Then again i have been told RC rats are spendy numbers too. when getting any tool i try to do a cost/benifit list. factoring in a lot of stuff at once.

the RC10 i look forward to as well as the rat machette. i think i will enjoy them. and my previous rc knives have proven to be very good choices. but not my only ones.

keep up the good work!

Glad to finally see the proto, gotta make this one my first RAT, the handle on the RTAK was too clunky for me to be a good bush whacker. This one looks well thought out on the balance. Can't wait.

CHUPACABRA sounds nice :)
I don't know if anyone alreay proposed something like
* ANACONDA (on the animal side)
* RANCHERO/GAUCHO (on the "use" side)
* the name of an Inca emperor or something like that...

As I also said in the machete thread, I think we've already got the name covered ;

jeff, outstanding blade, wonderful size with killer looks, will be a nice valentines present, not that far off either.

Canting the blade slightly will make it chop better, as well as look sexier. With looking sexy being the most important part. Don't ever forget that this knife industry is all about hype, bullshit and tacti-cool stuff. No one needs this new RC blade. A damn machete will do just as good. But, we're gonna make it anyway just because it's cool.

see, Jeff makes such a good product with such awesome customer support, people will still buy his products after he denounces them! I know I'll buy one soonly: I have two Trams in my closet right now, brand new from Smokey Mountain, the Bolo will get Alumahyded with the RAT logo on it and I have the rivets and micarta slabs for some new scales. The other I'm going to Wordanize to see what all the hype is about this 80 dollar ontario machete...

What about trouser snake? That'd be a great name for an in-the-pocket companion survival knife... maybe I'll draw up a few ideas...

would it be the arboreal chupacabra, aquatic, terrestrial or subterrainian? all different subspecies that exhibit unique characteristics.

It is by far one of the most complex cryptozoological creatures. to simply call it the chupacabra may cause confusion due to the generality, which would be tragic.

wow, I really like that...

first found about RAT knives when some people were raving about the RC 5. Looking around that seemed to be a bit too much knife for me right now, and I got the RC3 Mil and couldn't be happier.

However, I could see myself being ready for this knife when its time comes, haha

You started out right. Hard to go wrong with the RC-3 in any format. :)
