Case red bone does wear nicely, doesn't it?This 6275SP Moose was a "barn find" by a friend (who sold it to me for $10), so I know nothing about its history. It is a CASE XX, so it is at least 60+ years old, and the long pull indicates that it could be as old as 1940 (as per Steve Pfeiffer's book). Anyway, I'm pretty sure this is "real pocket worn"!
(I assume this qualifies as "red bone" also.)

A lot can depend on the scale material too. The bottom Uncle Henry rode in my right front pocket, along with pocket change, every single day for thirty years. The scales are Stagalon, Schrade's synthetic stag. They don't look much worse for wear than the top one, which has hardly been carried at all.It obviously takes a long time. I’ve been carrying a Russlock every day for 4 years and it still looks nearly new.

Wow, gorgeous!18th century Pickbone gets a distinctive look as it gets pocketworn!!! Attested to by these old Empires; a Whittler and a Jack!!!View attachment 3080746

You've got some smooth operators there, Rachel; amazing! Then there are some so worn, I couldn't say what type of jigging they started with.
