Real Pocketworn Knives

A lot can depend on the scale material too. The bottom Uncle Henry rode in my right front pocket, along with pocket change, every single day for thirty years. The scales are Stagalon, Schrade's synthetic stag.

Pocket change is probably what’s lacking with my Russlock. It’s alone in that pocket except for a smooth Spacepen.

It’ll probably never wear much.

Yeah, this Case Barlow is about 50 years old, and while it shows signs of wear, it's held up pretty well.

I think the jigging was sanded off of the Delrin at the factory, though, because the pile side jigging shows much less wear:

Alox SAKs can look pocketworn quite quickly, I think. I don't know how old this Pioneer is, but I like its worn handle.

I carried this Ulster every day from 1961 until 2001 . The other knife is a Craftsman that belonged to Roland Proctor and was gifted to me by Campbellclanman which I carry occasionally and will be passed on some day to a forums member .

That Old Cross red Pioneer is one of my favorite knife finds that I picked up for what I considered a "steal" at an antique/consignment shop in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. (Unfortunately, the shop is closed now - I had found 2 or 3 nice pre-owned SAKs there on annual vacation trips to the U.P.)

Your redbone trapper is an amazing example of pocket worn bone!

H.S.B. that I am pretty sure is a Boker. Absolutely wonderful knife all around. Someone loved this and carried it for a many years.


This is an awesome Ka-Bar whittler that is darn near worn smooth. Lots of life left. Snappy. Great steel.

Case early XX Greenbone!! It used to be a three-blade Cattle knife!!

It has lost 2 of its blades, and most of its jigging, but still remains a useful, Pocketworn knife!!!! A 6145 1/2 if you will!!! Ha Ha!!!
