Great News!
IT CAN BE DE-ASSISTED!!
The mistery is over :D
It deploys way easier now without having to apply so much force on the flipper.
It has ball and detent whole folks ;)
Also, and a great thing for me, by removing the torsion bar you can use the thumbstuds to open the knife.
Before, the studs, only used to work as blade stops and were extremely hard to use. Now it works like a charm :)
The 0566 is definitely a winner guys:thumbup:

Thanks for confirming that mantzao, been waiting to know for sure. Would have gotten it either way but I will like it a lot more manual :)
 
Haven't been on for a while but just yesterday I got an email saying my 0566 will ship in 5-7 business days. Whoo hoo!
 
It has a detent? Guess this just knocked the 560 off my next buy spot. I don't mind steel over titanium, and the smaller size makes it a better EDC. Sounds like this will make the perfect younger brother to the 560 and cousin to the 550.
 
I absolutely love my 560's. not too sure if I'll like this one because of that. buuuuuut I'm sure i'll still manage to get one, at least to handle.

Ok after having the knife in my pocket for a month I can say it is a real winner! The pocket clip is holding up great. Still very strong. Sometimes with a thick jeans it is difficult to get the knife out. The flipper is getting smoother by time. Sitting on the couch and flipping it for a evening helps a lot :D

I put a mirror edge on the blade with the Edge Pro. It is easy to sharpen. To test the steel I cut a lot of hard dryed wood with it and the Elmax steel is holding up great! Far better than the S30V of my Para 2.
I'm happy with the 0566!

Thanks Ruudr, cant wait to get it in my pocket. I'm thinking the demand will be so high for this knife that the perceived delay in release is due to them having to make lots more.

Yes, that 770CF is tempting as well.

Sounds familiar. Knife center sent an email stating that. Apparently that email was sent in mistake. I got a secondary email stating their mistake. I'm still waiting on mine.

Same, kind of bummed but whatever it'll get here eventually.

Yet another reason to move to Europe is apparently they get ZT's way before we do :p

I guess you missed where I answered the question in post #31 and #32. I even went out of my way to post a photo of the knife thinking some may judge I lack credibility. At least you finally got confirmation you've been waiting for, I hope you can get your hands on one soon, it's a cool knife, my 2nd favorite ZT so far.
 
Kornphlake - I know I didn't see your posts, thanks for bringing them back to our attention. Tho, to be fair - you don't show or talk about the detent specifically.
