The spring assist is simply an added feature incorporated into the knife. For all intents it's pretty much the same overall design as the 560/561 except in a smaller size. If the 566 was specifically designed for assisted opening in mind, then the larger 560 would have had the Speedsafe spring in it too.
 
This is the first ZT that's really appealed to me, I really like the blade shape and the swedge. Its to bad I don't like flipper (notice I didn't say "to bad its a flipper") I don't care for flippers but for this knife I think it just looks right. I haven't taken a trip to my knife store in quite awhile, looks like I'm going to have to handle this knife to really make a decision, its definitely the ZT I've been most interested in... ever. I hope an employee at the knife store has one that's been de-assisted I can handle.
 
Don't rush down to fast cereal, I don't think they are available in North America yet. We are all still waiting patiently

Thanks mantzao, its a good looking knife, G10 looks good n grippy as well. Thanks for posting pics. This is going to be a very successful knife for KAI.
 
the G-10 is kinda Para2 grippy.

i trully believe this is going to be one of the most sold production knives ever.

A month and a week since OP received his.
So how long do I have to wait to complain before getting slapped again for not being patient?
(I'm not buying a Junglas because I want this one particular knife. I know AS SOON as I give up waiting and buy the Junglas...)

I would imagine they are doing their best to get it out before Christmas but I wouldn't expect it any sooner. Might have to buy a Cryo II to hold me over!
 
Just spied some on the auction site! Little pricey compared to dealers, may be worth it to wait a bit longer.
