Received today: ZT 0566

Very much waiting on reports of de-assist-ability (which is surely even less of a word) myself as well. Looks to be almost the ideal knife if it's doable. Cheap, strong, with good build quality and a warranty.
 
You can bet that if the 566 takes off like expected there will be many versions coming out. Oh well there goes my budget again, can't wait
 
The 0566 still hasn't left my pocket sinds 2 weeks. :) And that says something for me!
But a little bit affraid for the "de-assist-ability" like Comeuppance nicely said.

Seriously! It makes no sense that Europe gets their knives 3-4 weeks before the US. Shipping time isn't a great excuse.

My apologies for saying it was an excuse rather than a reason.

Giving the reason of staggered 3-4 week European shipping as to why US shipments will arrive later is annoying.

This isn't the Kai Sub-forum correct? I can give an opinion without being scolded by the company.

Did you join this forum to be a productive participant or just whine? If it's the former, welcome aboard but a word of advise - the attitude you just displayed calling people "Fanboys" isn't going to help you. If it's the latter, I think Spark and the gang have long ago filled their "Whiner" quota and aren't accepting new applicants.

FWIW I'm not a "fanboy", I bought my ZTs/Kershaws (2 Skylines, 1 ZT0350, 1 ZT0560) within the last 2 years, the reason being I'm not really a fan of their previous (recurve etc) designs, the 0350 being the exception. I too have been waiting for the 0566 to come out since it was announced because the 0560 is too big for my EDC needs. Prior to that, I also waited patiently like the rest of us for the year + between the announcement and release of the 560.

I can understand why KAI has all but stopped making any announcements regarding up and coming products (and ultimately closed their sub-forum here) because there are too many impatient whiners and complainers who've unfortunately spoilt it for the rest of us.

Well the incredibly vague ETA of 3rd quarter has come and gone. Is it surprising to hear a complaint? I think not.
 
Wholly sweet potatoes. I think it was vague for a reason, So as to not have these kind of comments being shot around aimlessly. I Understand we are an impatient group of people here on blade forums. But comments like these will keep KAI from saying anything at all. It hasn't been all that long from the guestimation they gave, Lets keep our eyes and ears open a little longer and wait for the goodness that will inevitably come to us in good time. If you look at all the awesome pieces they have been putting out lately (which has been quite a bit), I'm ok with waiting just that little amount longer. :)

The 0566 looks like a great knife and I'm excited to see if it will turn into the next 0350 for ZT. Hope everyone that wanted one ends up getting one!

I didn't pre-order the 0566 but now sort of wish I had. Hopefully there will be some to go around to those that didn't pre-order. I love so many things about my 0350 but there are a few things that I wish were a bit different. Really liked the 0560 I had, but it was just a bit to large to EDC for me. So the 0566 looks to be the perfect compromise. Looking forward to hopefully getting my hands on one when they become available for the non pre-orders.
 
Quick quistion about mine 0566. When the knife is opened and I shake it I hear a rattle. When I disengage it it stops. First I thought it was the detent ball but thats not it. Any ideas?

Could be the torsion bar. The torsion bar from the assisted opening used to do that on my 0350 until I de-assisted it. A little grease in there with stop the rattle.
 
Hear we go again......smh I dont get why they get their knives weeks before uds eithier? Doesnt it say made in USA on the blade!!!! Just how i feel and no reason will make me change my mind, im sure ill get jumped by Kai fans for post. ( im even order member) People should be able to say how they feel about a product to a point without the negative feedback
