Recommendation- Next Gun

I've been shooting since 1961. (Yes, I was 6 years old then.) I love the Witness as well as my Glock Model 20 and my original Dan Wesson Razorback. (One of the first 150 built when Bob Serva was running the marque.)

Dan Wessons are amazing. One of the commander V bobs would be my top choice for a 1911 if money wasn't an option. If I had money like that to buy a $1700 1911 Id get myself in trouble though for sure. I'd probably have an entire underground bunker filled with high end shit. I've got my eye on a Ruger commander or a RIA. Broke as hell though...

Thats easy, Glock 43 cant go wrong for 429$ 7 rounds of any 9mm you wanna put thru it. Plus its so small and slim you can throw it in your front pocket. Just a thought

I'm contemplating that one since I can get a new one for $350-ish if I can ever catch them in stock.

Don't overlook a classic wheelgun to mix things up a little bit. Consider a S&W 66 or 69 Combat Magnum. Just my .02, but revolvers are FUN!!!

Some sort of .357 is on the list eventually. Maybe around Christmas. I will own a S&W 500 at some point also.

loved both my S&W 586 [.357 Mag] and 629 Classic [.44 Mag]. In fact, the 586 was my duty weapon back in the day.

I loved my pre-lock S&W 66 4" but sold it in a heartbeat to finance my GP100 Match Champ. It was a good move and I'd do it all over again.

Well, I ended up getting a new gun. I wasn't really looking since I didn't have much spare cash and I damn sure wasn't looking at this one much. It just kind of fell in my lap.

Nice choice!!! I have one also, and, although I have only fired fifty (50) rounds, it has replaced my j-frame 360PD (for the time being) as my front jeans pocket EDC. Let us know what you think of her.

I've only put about 100 rounds thru it but so far so good. I was missing low by about 5" or so. At first I thought the sights were way off but a lot of dry firing and paying attention has shown that I'm pulling down when I squeeze the trigger. The trigger is much heavier than my other Glocks. I'm sure once it smooths out some and I get used to it it'll hit where I aim.

If you like FN, look at the FNX9. Research the functionality of that gun - you can carry in almost any configuration from cocked and locked, half cock, uncocked, manual safety on or off. The trigger pull with the hammer back is about the best you can find on a polymer frame pistol.

If you want something smaller, check out the Ruger LC9. This is my favorite concealed gun - I have never found a better compromise of concealability, power, handling, and reliability.

Of course, for a night stand gun, truck gun, or range gun, it is hard to beat a glock.

Glock is pretty much my favorite mfg. Not the best at anything but pretty good at everything. She shot my 17 but didn't care for it. She loves her 42, never really thought she would like anything better until she shot the 19.

I'm actually pretty proud of her. She went from never having handled a handgun until three months ago to shooting a compact 9 mm pretty accurate at 7 yards. I was adamant she learned the 4 Rules when she first started. I went over them with her and made her practice so much I thought she was going to punch me in the dick, lol. I feel more safe around her than other people I've been around that have been shooting for 30 years or better.

first of all props that you can get her to shoot. My fiance says it would be kinda cool but when it comes down to it she doesn't ever want to go, and doesn't understand why I would ever want to carry....hopefully all in time haha; I'm with converge on this

That's really awesome man! I've been trying to get my girlfriend out to the range so she is capable with my handguns here at the house when I am out. She's been a little hesitant because she just isn't very interested I guess, but I'll definitely get her out eventually.

Nice grab! I've been looking at a 43 or 26 recently. Like the 19 but want to go a little smaller, what are your thoughts of the size difference in the 26 (or any of the other same sized sub compacts) and 19?

Yeah it's really easy to shoot low with short barrel handguns. If I don't pull the trigger perfectly on my LCP the thing shoots 5-10" low at 10-15 feet. It's really a gun made for point blank - 5 feet distances, but I still practice with it a at the 10-15ft mark too. The G43 is definitely able to go further then that, the LCP is a bit smaller. I can't wait to get a 43 myself.

The size difference between the 19 & 26 isn't much. The only reason I have a 26 & 27 is I got really good deals on them. If I was buying all over and had to pay full price I'd get a 19 & 43 and skip the subcompacts.

Here's my 26 over my wife's 19

And here's how I carry my 26/27 when I do carry them
