Recommendation- Next Gun

Yeah the size difference between glocks compacts and subcompacts isn't much. It's worth having the longer barrel probably. The biggest thing for carry is width, that's what you feel the most in my opinion.
 
I have heard good reports from 1911 knowledgeable co workers and friends about the RI tactical model, I have not handled one, so I cannot comment on it- have had a colt and two Taurus 1911's the Taurus guns shoot well.

you wouldn't go wrong with a cz.

I have numerous springfield xd pistols of the original design, they are excellent guns. the "m" and "s" models are good as well...YMMV

my 4 inch service xd (9mm) has somewhere around 30k+ rounds through it with no malfunctions of any kind, no FTE, FTF, no anything...
