RED Friday

Thanks, it was done in adobe Elements using layers, basically making one layer grey and then erasing away the area to bring the colours through, time consuming but very effective ;)

edited to say the sparkle was added in a phone app called Reflect while not free it doesn't cost too much and is a pretty nice photo app to have on hand.

I’ve been to Omaha a few times. I was able to go to a college World Series game back in 2013.

Yes sir. Really cool effects you did on that picture!
I remember my dad taking my brother and me to the College World Series in the late sixties and early seventies at the original Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium and watching a young Reggie Jackson play for as I recall Arizona State. It was a treat!

It says Hemlock on the tube's label o_O But I see RED😻

I figured I’d save everyone in the totin thread from my weekly RED Friday post of the same knives as usual, and create this one. Also, no disrespect to those in the Black Friday thread.

RED Friday is of significance to me for 2 reasons:
During football season the Friday before Gameday within “Chiefs Kingdom” is celebrated as Red Friday.
Most commonly known, RED is an acronym for Remember Everyone Deployed. I grew up a navy dependent while my dad served mostly aboard submarines, my uncle served 27 years in the Navy, my cousin served in the Army and deployed several times during the global war on terror, and I served a year in Arabian gulf during the global war on terror as well in addition to “normal” underway periods while stationed afloat performing several missions. Needless to say what service members and families endure I am quite familiar with.

With that I always carry and use red knives on Fridays. Because of “Fremont Friday” and “Fixed blade Friday” I targeted specific knives for this weekly observance. It’ll be interesting to see other RED Friday carry posts.

Jon, thank you and your family for your service.

Purely by coincidence, I’m travelling today, and I always carry my SAK Compact when I venture out and about.

couldn’t post a pic, but it’s red.

Nice thread, Jon. As to you and your family's service - BZ from a retired AF dude.

(I'd never heard of the RED acronym, but I'm from a previous generation of mil and was the one usually deployed... old Cold War/ Gulf War peep.)

It's been fun reading through this thread and seeing peoples red-handled cutters.

I have only a handful red knives (other than SAKs), I can post one a week for a little while then repeats. First one is the old red SAK Camper I bought when I started as a flight engineer to replace the crappy AF issued MC1. This thing banged around in my flight suit knife pocket for a bit over 16 years. For giggles, patches from my most unique and least "AF" assignment.
