REF: Screwthe49ers, who else in the pass week is on the same boat?

There are still a lot of knives unaccounted for and it is not just 1 or 2 people but7 or 8 people so one knife returned out of the dozen or so is no cause for the Nobel prize to be awarded to the perpitrater of these crimes . At the end of the day when and if everyone is compensated or has their property back you still got a crook without reguard for honor or their fellow man, now is it the original trader or his evil cousin who is convenenetly in jail unable to send the knives that went to TN?

I am entitled to voice my opinion on this a public forum and if my comments make it impossible to get your stuff back, you were not going to get the stuff back in the first place. :p

What does not make things better is that all the blame is diverted and it will be business as usual when all the knives are returned.

"Gee thanks for helping me get my property back, missing out on a real deal, spending shipping monies, and worrying I might lose a knife or two"

If you want to add some advice worth while to the situation, then by all means, do it! If not, then go make yourselves useful in another forum. I don't understand why people who aren't involved or contributing in a positive manner are even posting in here anyway.

It's like people who love to hear themselves talk, just exchange the word "talk" with "type."

This thread needs some serious housecleaning.

Would the shipping address in Tennessee be of any use in finding the magistrate (small town.)?

There seems to be a Lot of money involved, several people with multiple knives in excess of $100 each. This isn’t petty theft and should be addressed properly.

So the “cousin” fraudulently received mail addressed to screwthe49ers while perpetrating a crime across interstate borders? Seems like this would be illegal.

Some folks here do quite a bit of trading and buying/selling on these forums. It is in all our best interests to make sure that scammers do not inhabit these forums and do not get a free pass.

It was awfully convenient how the "cousin" didn't come up until page 7, after it was clear legal actions might be in the works. Also durned convenient that the cousin is purportedly now in jail and cannot do anything.

coletrane, if I were you, I'd be investigating this cousin angle with some ferocity. A call to the jail might be in order just to see if he is really a detainee there. I would also be finding out everything I could about the TN address and where it leads. The Interweb is your friend.

I considered looking into that myself, would be a real fast way to ascertain whether Screw was being truthful or telling lies. The problem with it is that we don't know the cousin's name and there is no guarantee that he shares a last name with St49ers. Perhaps start with the TN address like you said, see who lives there, etc.
 
If it's a small town, and the knives went to this same small town, it would not be difficult at all to find the local jail. It might be a little harder to find out if a Marlon is in lockup, but who knows what a small town TN secretary might tell you?
 
Guyon I for one appreciate your input here, I have a Busse Badger in Tn that I would like back . The guy st49ers has not to this day answered any email from me and I do think he may be not trying very hard.
If this was me in his shoes and I was innocent I would be in my truck driving to TN to straight out my honor.
 
Anyone tried Google Earthing the TN address to see what it looks like? I'd be all over that angle too.
With street view, you might see the knife boxes piled up on the porch. :cool:

It's not just his honor he needs to worry about. If enough folks file reports for Chris Haworth, he might get to take his breakfast, lunch, and dinner with old cousin Marlon.


Edited to add: I just reread the thread and realized the TN addy is in Knoxville. Scratch my earlier suggestion. Finding a "Marlon" in lockup in Knoxville ain't gonna work, more than likely. So the knives were shipped to Knoxville, but the cousin is in lockup in a small town with a magistrate? Hmmmm.....

If this "Marlon" fellow is in jail then why all the covert bullshiit? I think 49er owes it to each and every one of you to cooperate FULLY. A full Name of his cousin, the Court that he just appeared in and even the reason for his most recent offense. All this IS public record so why not point you guys in the right direction so you can file criminal complaints?

This is not Romper room, it's real life and folks are out some valuable property. His witholding of vital and critical information towards the return of property sure is not helping the situation. His Roommate/Cousin is not a minor child so he must be identified and held accountable even if the property is returned.

Furthermore, if you are engaging in sales/trades on a forum maybe you should make the time to do it all yourself and not leave important tasks to Cousins, roomates, a Wife, Daughters, and mothers. We have all read many threads that placed all the blame for a scam on someone else, and this is no different. You are the Forum member here and it IS your responsibility to ensure all goes smoothly. This crap just makes it harder for newer members ( with no forum reputation) to be trusted to ship at the same time. This stuff was rare on BFC............................................

Being the extreme cynical, this really smells and quacks like a duck, there is alot more "fact" to be learned.

I agree. If he's telling the truth,doing as you've said would quickly salvage much of his reputation here, if not the collective faith in his judgement. Plus, it would allow anyone wishing to file a complaint to do so against the appropriate party.
 
Here's an update on my part.

My knives arrived back to me from today from Steven, apparently handled but in their original shape.

As previously stated, my knives were part of those that were sent to the OH address.

good! i'm still waiting for word that mine have been received by him in OH. I leave tomorrow for vacation so looks like i wont know how this all plays out until i get back next sunday!
