REF: Screwthe49ers, who else in the pass week is on the same boat?

I still haven't heard anything from him yet... He used to reply very quickly to people's emails. Chime in if any of you guys hear something from him.
 
Here is my recent experience with him: Last week at about Tuesday he contacted me through e-mail giving me a list of knives for two of my knives. When we worked out which knives we would swap, I looked at his profile a VERY kindly asked him to ship first. He said no and backed out of the deal. I asked why as this was a tradition of BF's for new people. He said it is a trust thing: I trust you you trust me. I respected that so I asked if he would still trade because he had a knife I really wanted (Spyderco Sage 1). Between the time he declined and I asked him to reconsider trading I traded away one of my knives, so i offered him the other for one of his (Sage 1). He said OK and we agreed to ship.I was going to ship on Friday I believe and him on thursday. He didn't ship and didn't e-mail me until I e-mailed him. He said he had a problem and couldn't ship.

So luckily I never shipped mine and after reading this Im very glad I did not. To be honest from when he declined to ship first I was very weary to trade. I just didn't have a good feeling. I would like to know why he did receive many knives that he didn't plan to trade....????

Edit: I would like to add that he was very very very pushy and tried to trade way too fast. He already basically finished the deal before either of us even described the condition. So I had to spend about 2 days asking him questions and getting incomplete and rushing answers.

I wonder if you can use an escrow service for trading goods?? Might be more of a hassle at first but less of a headache in the long run.

One suggestion would be to handle each side of the trade as an independent sale, where each of you get money before you sent your knife to the other party. Then the traditional concepts of sales/auctions over the internet would apply, and an escrow agent could be employed to ensure both sides are happy with their trade.

Same here,thats what really made me suspiciousof him,He was like,I'll take your this,oh and that,and that also.oh and that too,heres my address.He was like a kid in a candy store with eyes as big as quarters.No explaining of condition was even asked,he just wanted them.
Heres what our trade was supposed to be, It sounded way to good to be true, which was also suspect.

Screwthe49ers, Im not sure whats going on here but last week we made a trade on here and i have shipped my end and by the looks of this thread i will not be recieving my Benchmade Mini Dejavoo. my trade was somewhat semi reasonable but i however was getting a better deal
my: rat hest, orange zing, poliwog ss and g10 s30v leek
his: cf sage, caly3 and millie

I haven't had any word from him since i received the faulty confirmation number on wed dec 2. if i dont hear anything soon i'm going to assume it as a loss and contact the authorities which is something i'd really rather not do, but i've never really dealt with anything like this before.

Assuming he ripped us all off. What do i do now in regards to the authorities. Do i go to the post office or do i go to the police? What do i tell them? I got ripped off on an online knife forum in a trade? This is a first for me so id appreciate all the help i can get. Thanks
 
He got me as well. I traded w/ him on another forum, and have yet to receive my trade in return, or my knives sent back, or any response from him. I see all of this negative feedback to this ass crack and fully believe that he has no good intentions of returning any material to anyone. What comes around goes around mother fucker and I'm going to do my best to see that you get yours. I believe that the US Inspector General will be glad to review our complaints, i am going to contact the USPS w/ mine. This guys information should be passed to all trading forums so this doesn't happen to anyone else.
 
He just emailed me right now. He's jerking our chain. This is what happened:

Rat 1 - Did you ship the knife? If so is there a real tracking number available? Please reply, I need to be updated on this situation. Thanks

This is what he replied - Your knives were shipped to another address, but they were intercepted before they could be lost to both you and I. I'm waiting to receive them so I can ship to you. I'll keep you updated as to when I ship them.

I think he has no intention of returning our knives and is just playing with us.
 
It appears, at least according to him, that his room-mate was using his account to defraud people and have them send knives - possibly to ruin 49ers reputation, or possibly just for his own gain - and now screwthe49ers is trying to intercept them before his room-mate gets them and send them back to the rightful owners.

Regardless of any circumstances he claims, the burden of this rests on him until every single knife is returned and/or he reports his room-mate for fraud and defamation.
 
All of you, please stop and think.

If he's telling the truth about sending the knives back, YOU WILL HAVE TO WAIT TILL MONDAY AT THE EARLIEST, since the post office hasn't been open since he posted here.

But what happened? Who cares? What matters is how soon he gets the knives in the mail with tracking numbers. After that, his reputation here depends on a good explanation.

Wait for the knives first, there's time for the explanation after.

Just a quick note for those of you who are taking out your frustrations on the rest of us. It isn't necessary to stir up people's emotions with threats, vulgar language, and apocalyptic forecasts.

Let's keep this thread for people who have been defrauded to post the deals that went wrong, so they can compare notes.

That's a very possible theory man. But it's only best case scenario.
