Doing this from my phone, so bear with me. I'll add the rest tomorrow, then send her out Thurs. I'm really sorry I haven't posted more by now and had her this long. Ok, this bad little gal truly is a weapon/tool of mass destruction. I'm very impressed thus far and hope to see a return of this model one day. Clich, I feel very fortunate to be part of this and thank you for allowing us to enjoy this piece of Becker legacy. Especially in lieu of recent events.
Sat I took her to the woodpile out back for the glamour shots. Sun I happen to still have the Junglas and RBK in my pack when I showed up at Todd's. So y'all following the Beckernet know what that means. I'll go ahead and throw a disclaimer in here. Bladeforums, Ethan nor the mods condone using these tools while imbibing in alcohol, so let's pretend my glass has used 10W-30 in it.
I'm not a fan of the Camillus micarta, so to me the Junglas has a better handle. This could be remedied with a cord wrap over or inner tube fix for those of us just borrowing her.
Sheaths, man I'm a kydex guy, but damn the leather on this thing had 3 options for wear(if you don't include reverse).
There's a slot through the belt loop, the loop itself, then another loop sewn lower down the sheath.
I was worried about the lack of fastener to retain the RBK, but that's totally unnecessary, unless your Bear Grylls. Really, she stays where you put her until you take her out. (Are you reading this Christina?! )
Length wise the RBK has a slight edge, plus being a Kuk it tends to be a bit better of a chopper. I'm not well versed with Kuhkris, but I'll be thinking of picking up a decent one after this week.
Even though the Junglas had a bit more thickness, some due to coating, she really just could outcrop the Kuk. If I remember I'll check them with the mic tomorrow.
As I said, I feel more comfortable with the Junglas handle. The RBK was a bit snug for me.
End of Sat glamour shot session.
Sun saw me and T acting the fools with a bit of log.
I know she could handle it, but I just didn't feel comfortable batoning on this thing. Basically we buried them as far as we could.
Tying a lanyard, safety first.
Honestly, we weren't that bad off. We're not completely stupid(it's true) . We did have fun!
The RBK with it's forward heavy blade, thinner profile and just flat out great design sunk a lot deeper.
End Sun idiot testing.
